Time to Buy Disney’s Grand Floridian, Grand Californian and Beach Club

Last week Disney Vacation Club decided to stop wait listing three resorts: Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s Grand Californian and Disney’s Beach Club. Part of the reason can probably be attributed to very long wait lists to purchase any of those three resorts directly from Disney Vacation Club. This move makes sense in that for any developer the main objective is to sell the newest resorts at the highest margin possible, and carrying long wait list for a lower margin resale doesn’t make much sense.

With this change in policy buyers are left with the DVC resale market as the only means to purchase any of those three resorts. This could certainly impact the resale market with an increased demand for those resorts. Increased demand usually leads to a drop in inventory, which of course could impact prices. Moreover, Grand Floridian has already recently experienced a price increase on the resale market from 2014 to 2015 as much at $13/pt. If you are considering buying any of these three resorts you might want to act sooner versus later.
