DVC One-Time-Use Points Increase in Price
When you are short on DVC points, one-time-use points can come in handy. These are points that you can use to book accommodations at 7 months or less from your check-in date. You can purchase up to 24 one-time-use points per Use Year by calling DVC Member Services. The points are available to both Direct and Resale Members.
As of March 2026, DVC quietly increased the price of one-time-use points. Here’s what changed.
How Much Are One-Time-Use Points Now?
According to the DVC website, one-time-use points are currently $20 per point plus tax. While that may sound the same as before, previously the $20 per point was inclusive of tax, which effectively meant that the points themselves cost $17.77 per point (plus $1.16 in tax and $1.07 in resort tax).
With the points now being $20 per point plus tax, they are $22.50 in total per point. In essence, this is an increase of $2.50 per point.

What Are Some Alternatives to One-Time-Use Points?
If you don’t care to purchase one-time-use points, there are a few alternatives:
- Borrowing Points

- If you have points available for the next Use Year, sometimes it’s best to borrow points first. After all, you do not have to pay anything extra to use them. You can borrow up to the entire next Use Year’s worth of points. Just note that once you borrow points from the next Use Year, you cannot return them to their original Use Year if your plans change.

- Renting Points

- When you are out of points to borrow, you can also consider renting points from other DVC Members. Unlike with one-time-use points, you are not limited to renting only 24 points, and you can rent points at the 11-month mark instead of waiting for the 7-month mark.

- Transferring Points

- If you have friends or family who are also DVC Members, you can transfer point to one another. You are able to transfer points in or out of your DVC Membership one time per Use Year. This can be done by calling Member Services.
