Is Animal Kingdom Villas the Best DVC Resort for Kids?

Disney World is one of the most kid-friendly vacation destinations, and each of the resorts has wonderful amenities for kids of all ages. However, with the combined amenities of both Jambo House and Kidani Village, Animal Kingdom Villas may just be the best DVC resort when you’re traveling with kids.
The Savannas
If your child loves animals, there is no resort like Animal Kingdom Villas with four savannas and more than 200 animals! You’ll find zebras, giraffes, impalas, kudos, bongos, gazelles, wildebeest, pelicans, ostriches, cranes, and more. There’s nothing quite like spotting animals from the balcony of your Savanna View Room. Even with a Resort View room, you can enjoy the many overlooks off the lobbies at Jambo House or Kidani Village.

Pools and Water Play Area
Your child can have twice the pool time fun with the Uzima Springs Pool at Jambo House and the Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village since guests at Animal Kingdom Villas have access to both pools! The Uzima Springs Pool is larger and features a 67-foot waterslide, though the Samawati Springs Pool has a more thrilling 128-foot waterslide. Both offer poolside activities like relays, trivia, and crafts like Mickey tie-dye, making your own African bangles, and sand art.
Nearby the Samawati Springs Pool is the Uwanja Camp water playground, which has 3 different areas for different age groups. Kids can enjoy all sorts of fun water features, such as a leaky water tower, African irises that squirt water, or water cannons.
Playground
Right near the flamingo area by the Uzima Springs Pool, kids can enjoy climbing and sliding at the Hakuna Matata Playground. This shaded playground is the perfect place for littles to get out their wiggles. This is also where you’ll find Movie Under the Stars or the video game dance party on select evenings.

Activities and Games
Like many other resorts, Animal Kingdom Villas has a community hall at Kidani Village for crafts, board games, billiards, and foosball. There are even some toys and books for younger children to enjoy. At Jambo House there’s the smaller Simba’s Cubouse for similar crafts and games. For video games, kids can head over to Pumbaa’s Fun and Games Arcade at Jambo House and Safari So Good Arcade at Kidani Village.
Unique to Animal Kingdom Villas are the free String of Memories Activities. Guests can collect beads by completing educational activities that are hosted by African Cultural Representatives at Jambo House and Kidani Village. For example, you can earn a bead after learning about how researchers locate and study animals in the wild.
Kid-Friendly Dining
The restaurants at Animal Kingdom Villas can be ideal for more adventurous diners, but they still offer great dining options for younger guests, including pickier eaters. At Sanaa, the kids’ menu has cheese pizza and grilled cheese, and even Jiko (the resort’s signature dining restaurant) serves macaroni and cheese and cheese pizza. Boma truly has something for everyone at its buffet, including kid-friendly items like penne pasta with marina and meatballs, chicken bites, and macaroni and cheese. If cheeseburgers or chicken strips and fries are a must for your child, the quick-service restaurant The Mara has you covered.
