How Does Lakeshore Lodge’s Pool Compare to the Beach Club’s?

The Beach Club’s Stormalong Bay has long been considered by many guests to be the best pool on Disney World property. The 3-acre pool complex features a 230-foot-long shipwreck-themed waterslide, lazy river, sandy bottom, and whirlpool spas. However, based on newly announced details, The Wetlands pool area at Lakeshore Lodge, the latest DVC Resort that is set to open in 2027, may just blow Stormalong Bay out of the water. Here’s why the whimsical Wetlands recreation area will make Lakeshore Lodge a popular DVC Resort to book in the future.
A Lazy River
Once Lakeshore Lodge opens, the Beach Club will no longer be the only resort with its own lazy river. The Wetlands will feature a lazy river called Daydream River. This relaxing lazy river will take guests along a leisurely winding route through The Wetlands, allowing them to take in the resort’s lush landscape.
More Features for Younger Guests
As much as guests love Stormalong Bay, a common complaint is that it isn’t the best pool for younger children. Parents find it challenging to keep children within view due to the pool’s layout, especially if they have children of different ages and the older ones want to go down the Flying Jib waterslide.

While we don’t have the full details on the layout of The Wetlands, it does have several features that were thoughtfully designed with young children in mind, such as Heron Shores and Otter Springs. These playful areas are inspired by Pocahontas’s “Colors of the Wind” lyrics, “the heron and the otter are my friends.” Heron Shores will be a dry play area with climbing features, while Otter Springs will be a splash pad with a slide and interactive water features for little ones.
A Feature Pool for All Ages
The Wetlands feature pool, Lakeside Lagoon, will have a zero-depth entry, which is more accessible to guests of all ages. Thrill-seekers will enjoy the fun spiral waterslide. From previous artist renderings, it looks like the spiral waterslide begins in a treehouse-like structure.

The Views
Part of The Wetlands is Perspective Pond, which will include Lakeshore Lodge’s leisure pool and whirlpool spa. While all other DVC Resorts offer leisure pools for a quieter experience than the feature pools, what makes Perspective Pond stand out is the fireworks views of Magic Kingdom! It certainly makes for a magical way to unwind in the evening.
Additional Special Features
With The Wetlands, the experience extends beyond the pool areas. Guests can also enjoy nature trails. These scenic paths will allow guests to find fun facts about the flora and fauna around Bay Lake as well as a plaque in honor of a historic attraction that once stood where Lakeshore Lodge was built.
