Disneyland Coco Ride

Disneyland Resort fans, you weren’t left out of the fun at D23!

The Disney Experiences panel brought several big updates for the West Coast, including more details about attractions we already knew were on the way and one pretty major surprise for Disneyland Park.

Tomorrowland is officially getting a reimagining, we know much more about the first-ever Coco attraction, and Avengers Campus is getting ready to assemble two new attractions. Plus, several fan-favorite entertainment offerings are making their way back to Disneyland Resort in 2027.

Our team was on-site at D23 as Disney revealed what’s next for Disneyland Resort, from major new attractions to returning favorites.

Here’s a quick recap of everything we learned about Disneyland Resort at D23 2026.

Disneyland Park

Tomorrowland Is Officially Being Reimagined

Tomorrowland has seen plenty of changes throughout Disneyland history, and now the land is preparing for its next chapter.

Disney announced during the closing moments of the D23 Disney Experiences presentation that Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park will be reimagined.

This was more of a big-picture announcement than a detailed reveal, so don’t start planning a farewell trip for Space Mountain just yet. Disney didn’t announce which existing attractions will stay, go, or change.

Here’s what we do know:

  • Overall vision: The reimagining will honor Tomorrowland’s history while creating a new vision for its future.
  • New attractions: Imagineers are developing new experiences for the land, but no specific attractions have been announced.
  • Open spaces: Plans include creating more open spaces throughout Tomorrowland.
  • Design philosophy: Disney says the project will focus on the innovation, optimism, and possibility that inspired Walt Disney’s original vision for Tomorrowland.
  • Project status: Imagineers are in the early stages of developing the reimagining, with more details expected in the years ahead.

New Details Revealed for the First-Ever Coco Attraction

Remember me? We certainly will when the first-ever Coco attraction opens at Disney California Adventure.

Construction is already underway on the family-friendly boat ride near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier. While the attraction was originally announced at D23 2024, this year’s panel finally gave us the story and a much better idea of what we’ll experience.

  • Attraction type: The Coco attraction will be a family-friendly boat ride with no height requirement.
  • Timeline: The story takes place one year after the events of the original Coco.
  • Queue: Guests will enter a “casa museo” dedicated to the music of Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, Héctor Rivera.
  • Story: Miguel will take guests on a journey through his memories of the Land of the Dead.
  • Inspiration: Imagineers are drawing inspiration from classic Disney attractions including Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion.
  • Audio-Animatronics: Disney will use its latest Audio-Animatronics technology to bring the skeletal characters from Coco into the physical environment.
  • Pixar collaboration: Imagineers are working with Pixar on the attraction, with the possibility of references to both Coco and its upcoming sequel.

There’s Plenty Ahead for Disneyland Resort

Between a completely reimagined Tomorrowland, the first-ever Coco attraction, and an Avengers Campus that will soon be twice its current size, Disneyland Resort has some major projects ahead.

And while we wait for all that construction to wrap up, 2027 will bring back a few familiar favorites. “Remember… Dreams Come True,” the original “World of Color,” and “Magic Happens” should give Disneyland fans plenty of reasons to plan another visit before the bigger projects make their debut.
