These Are the Beachiest DVC Resorts

Sometimes, we all want to feel sand beneath our toes. When we close our eyes at our desks and daydream, an island destination beckons. Thankfully, the Disney Vacation Club owns and operates several places that can scratch that particular itch. So, which are the beachiest DVC resorts?

Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas

When Disney fans fantasize about an island paradise vacation, Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa is at the top of the list, and so. 

DVC understands the way its members think and thoughtfully built a resort at Ko Olina, one of the most beautiful locations on the planet. Polynesian royalty once vacationed here, which speaks volumes about the splendor of the beaches and ocean water here. 

Imagineers, including Disney Legend Joe Rohde, carved a slice of paradise on the island. The instant you set foot on this breathtaking campus, you’ll forget the outside world exists. 

You’ll cycle through a treasure trove of infinity pools, swimming pools, lazy rivers, and waterslides. All the while, the majestic Pacific Ocean provides a serene backdrop for your idyllic vacation. I won’t lie. In terms of beachiest DVC resorts, this one’s hard to top. 

Disney’s Beach Club Villas

Well, this place has “beach” in its name, so you knew it was going to be here. Disney built an artificial beach by Crescent Lake, which is itself a manufactured body of water. Management implemented long-term plans to excavate the land surrounding EPCOT. Then, Disney added a splash of personality with the surrounding hotels.

Whereas Disney’s BoardWalk Villas celebrates the lifestyle aspects of a classic oceanfront location, Beach Club leans hard into its identity. Imagineers went so far as to construct an entire shipwreck to enhance the illusion. 

You can enjoy beachfront walks whenever you like here, although you’re definitely not swimming in the waters of Crescent Lake. Disney thought of everything, though. This hotel hosts Orlando’s best pool, Stormalong Bay. 

Guests staying onsite can spend all day here, appreciating the sand-bottom floors while you swim. Stormalong Bay is so good that Disney strictly enforces who can use it, making it one of the special joys of a Beach Club visit.

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort

Next, we have a hotel that’s not technically at a beach…but it also kind of is. Yes, I know that’s confusing, and you must know the history of this resort to understand it.

Disney purchased oceanfront land here before facing strong resistance from some residents. So, Hilton Head Island Resort moved a bit inland to a swampier setting. That may not sound ideal, but it works out better than you’d expect.

You’ll still admire the water wherever you are on the campus. Then, when you’re ready to visit the beach, you’ll hop on the hotel’s shuttle. It’ll transport you to the aptly named Beach House. 

Disney constructed this standalone facility to provide DVC members with an exclusive beachfront area. You’ll have your choice of the pool and other amenities here or a stroll on the private beach. Here’s a quick glimpse of this scenic setting

Disney’s Old Key West Resort 

Notably, Beach Club Villas isn’t the only beach-themed resort at Walt Disney World. In fact, it’s not even the first. That honor belongs to Old Key West, the original DVC property.

Disney themed this campus to mimic Key West, Florida, a city surrounded by water. So, the beachy theme here is readily apparent with every step you take. 

You’ll notice the theme throughout the campus, but it’s most apparent at the main pool. Disney has crafted a sandy tribute to all things Key West here, including the beloved ocean music of its former resident, Jimmy Buffett. 

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort 

Finally, we have Disney’s third non-theme park resort, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. It, too, resides by the ocean…and that’s not all. The proverbial Pirates of the Caribbean once trafficked their illicit wares along the Treasure Coast.

So, when you visit this oceanfront resort, you’ll witness history come alive. Alternatively, you can kick up your feet, relax, and admire the waves cresting across the Atlantic Ocean.

Disney cleverly designed this hotel with private beach access. In addition, many of the rooms include Ocean View, as you can see in this DVC Fan video:

There’s just nothing better than opening your bedroom door and staring at the ocean. In terms of location and points cost, Vero Beach may offer the best bang for the buck of any beachy DVC resort.
