Boulder Ridge: How Much More Can You Get with a Resale Contract?

If you’re browsing this website, you probably already know that you can save thousands of dollars on a resale DVC contract compared to buying one directly through Disney.  Beyond these savings, another way to measure the difference in value between a resale contract and a direct one is the number of points you can purchase for the same price.  To illustrate, let’s take a look at a Boulder Ridge direct contract versus a Boulder Ridge resale contract.

Why Boulder Ridge?

Boulder Ridge at Wilderness Lodge is the perfect home resort for those who enjoy being a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom while also having a more tranquil resort to rest and recharge after a long day at the theme parks. Boulder Ridge has all the coziness and convenience of Wilderness Lodge but with a more intimate atmosphere due to the building’s smaller size.  Its lobby, the Carolwood Pacific Railway Room, is not to be missed if you love seeing pieces of Disney history.  The room has photos of Walt with his trains and two model trains from his one-eighth scale steam railroad that was designed for his home.

The points chart at Boulder Ridge is very reasonable, so your points will stretch farther.  In addition, the villas have been newly refurbished with updated features, such as the Murphy beds, and more vibrant decor that still stays true to the resort’s rustic feel.

What Does a Boulder Ridge Direct Contract Cost?

As of January 2026, a direct contract at Boulder Ridge goes for $215 per point.  If looking at an average size contract of 160 points, that direct contract would cost a total of $34,400.  For that 160-point contract, you could get a weeklong stay in a Deluxe Studio at Boulder Ridge for most travel periods.

How Much Can You Save with a Boulder Ridge Resale Contract?

As of December 2025, the average price per point for a Boulder Ridge contract is $102 per point.  For a 160-point resale contract, the total cost would be $16,320.  That’s $18,080 less than the cost of a 160-point direct contract!  

How Many More Points Can You Get By Going with a Resale Contract?

Another way to look at the difference between direct and resale is that if you were to put the $34,400 that you would have spent on a direct Boulder Ridge contract towards a resale contract instead, you could purchase a 325-point contract!  In other words, buying a resale contract instead of a direct one gets you 165 more points–more than twice the points!

With more than twice the points, you can have twice the number of vacations, or you could upgrade your accommodations to something larger.  For 325 points, you could have a weeklong stay in a One Bedroom Villa most travel periods.  

Bottom line: Buying a Boulder Ridge resale contract instead of a direct contract can save you tens of thousands of dollars or get you twice as many DVC points for more stays, longer stays, or larger accommodations!
