DVC Resale Average Sales Prices for June 2019

This article features the average sales price of contracts categorized by resort and month sold for June 2018 through June 2019. Our goal is for this to provide great directional information for anyone considering a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resale purchase or just wanting to satisfy a general curiosity of prices and trends.

Keep in mind that prices of a resort can still easily vary based on the size of the contract in points, the current point availability of the contract (i.e., points current, banked and borrowed) as well as other various factors (i.e., extended Old Key West contract, subsidized dues contracts, etc.). For example, contracts that are smaller and have higher point availability tend to sell for more than the average price per point and vice versa.

Premium Location DVC Resorts Surging to All-Time Highs

In June, the average selling prices for Boardwalk and Grand Floridian reached all-time highs at $133/pt and $178/pt. respectively for contracts sold through DVC Resale Market. Additionally, Beach Club and Bay Lake Tower were within $1/pt. of their all-time average selling price highs in June.

Much of the cause for these sudden increases can be attributed to lower inventory numbers, which are a direct result of high sales volume for all of these properties. Each of these resorts has a premium location at Walt Disney World, and a great location is always in demand.

Right of first refusal (ROFR) is also playing a strong part in the increased sales numbers for Beach Club and Bay Lake Tower as Disney has exercised ROFR on nearly 40% of DVC Resale Market’s sales for both resorts in 2019. Typically, when DVC exercises ROFR, the original buyer moves on to purchase another contract of the same resort, thus creating an additional contract sold for that resort.
