Features You’ll Love at the New Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are the newest DVC resort! As of July 1, 2024, the first loop of new cabins began welcoming guests. With more new cabins on the way, here are some features to look forward to when you stay at the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness!
Characters in the Decor
Chip and Dale have long had a presence at Fort Wilderness with Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, so perhaps it comes as no surprise that this dynamic duo makes quite a few appearances within the cabins. In the living room, you can find the silhouettes of Chip and Dale on the curtains. Just outside the bathroom, they appear in a Fort Wilderness archery poster. In the bedroom, you’ll see Chip and Dale in the artwork above the bed and sleeping in the wall mural next to the bunk beds.
Besides Chip and Dale, you can also find Mickey and Pluto within the cabin decor. They appear on the Murphy bed in the living room. When the bed is tucked away, you’ll see artwork showing Mickey and Pluto driving up to Fort Wilderness. When the bed is pulled down, you’ll see Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale sleeping at their campsite.
A Full Kitchen
The old cabins at Fort Wilderness only had a stovetop range, but the new ones are more similar to other DVC One Bedroom Villas and have a full kitchen. This includes a full stove with 4 burners and an oven. There’s also a full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and coffeemaker. If you plan on cooking and dining in the cabin, it’s stocked with basic pots and pans, plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery. With the cabin point values often rivaling those of Deluxe Studios, the full kitchen is a great perk!
Design and Function
The cabins seem thoughtfully designed with little details, such as the lanterns by the bunk beds. While they blend in perfectly with the camping theme, they are also very practical offering a nightlight and outlets to charge devices. The bathroom has the unusual addition of a step stool for little kids that slides neatly under the sink when not in use. In true Disney fashion, the step stool even has hidden Mickeys on each side.
Lots of Natural Light
While the old cabins were rather dark, the new ones offer plenty of natural light. In the living room/kitchen area, there are floor-to-ceiling windows that brighten up the cabin and make it feel more open. The bedroom and bathroom also have windows along the tops of the walls that let in more natural light, which can help while you are getting ready in the morning.
