Is the Grand Floridian the Best Post-Cruise DVC Resort?

For many Disney fans, planning a trip that combines a Disney cruise and a Disney World vacation is the best of both worlds! Disney cruises tend to offer a more laid back vacation and leave guests feeling rather pampered compared to a typical Disney World vacation that is jam-packed with theme park adventures.
If you’re still in cruise mode even after coming back to land, the Grand Floridian may just be the best resort for the most cruise-like amenities among the Disney World DVC resorts.
Grand Floridian Spa
If you find yourself wishing that you had more time at Senses Spa, the next best alternative on land is the Grand Floridian Spa. There you’ll find body treatments, massages, manicures, and more. Before and after your treatment, you’re also able to enjoy the spa’s amenities, such as the relaxation room that has soothing music and light refreshments. The Grand Floridian is currently the only Disney owned-and-operated resort at Disney World to offer spa treatments.
In-Room Dining
It’s always fun to treat yourself to room service on a Disney cruise, but did you know that you can do that at the Grand Floridian too? The Grand Floridian is the only resort offering in-room dining. You’ll find a menu in your villa, and you can order breakfast or dinner. The options are similar to what you’ll find at the Grand Floridian Cafe. For breakfast, you can order items like Mickey waffles, Floridian-style eggs benedict, or even the Grand Floridian family breakfast that serves four people. At dinner, you can choose options like the signature burger, miso-glazed salmon, or buttermilk-fried chicken.
Great Lounges and Dining
The Disney Cruise Line ships have some incredible themed lounges and restaurants, and you’ll find the same at the Grand Floridian. For instance, if you miss the elegance of The Rose lounge on the Disney Wish, have a drink at the beautiful Enchanted Rose at the Grand Floridian, which also happens to be themed after Beauty and the Beast.
If you find yourself still dreaming of elevated dining like you may have enjoyed at Palo, the Grand Floridian has the most signature restaurants. You can choose from Citricos for Florida cuisine with a Mediterranean influence or Narcoosee’s for fresh seafood. For the ultimate indulgence, treat yourself to the tasting menu at the award-winning Victoria & Albert’s, the premiere restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort.
Live Music
Should you find yourself missing the live music that you could find aboard the ship, you can always enjoy listening to the piano in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. Each day, you’ll hear the resident maestro playing the grand piano. You may even recognize a Disney tune or two. Currently, there are performances at 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm.
