Pros and Cons of Standard Inside Staterooms on the Disney Wish

On the Disney Wish, there are four main room categories: Concierge, Verandah, Oceanview, and Inside.  If you’re about to book a cruise on the Disney Wish, read on to learn more about Standard Inside Staterooms to see if they are a good fit for you and your travel party.

Pros

Cheaper Room Category

As the cheapest room category to book aboard the Disney Wish, the Standard Inside Stateroom is the most budget-friendly.  Compared to the next room category (Oceanview Stateroom), you can easily save over $1,000 by booking a Standard Inside Stateroom.  This savings can leave more room in your vacation budget for port adventures, dining at the adult-exclusive restaurants like Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté, and other add-ons during your trip.

Most importantly, you still have the same amazing entertainment, dining, shows, and Disney hospitality no matter which room category you book!

Convient Location

The Standard Inside Staterooms have convenient locations on the Wish and are near the restaurants and lounges.  If you have a child who will be spending time in Disney’s Oceaneer Club or the “it’s a small world” Nursery, the Standard Inside Staterooms on Deck 2 are very closeby.

Also if you are prone to motion-sickness, the Standard Inside Staterooms in the middle of the ship may be ideal for feeling less of the ship’s movement.

Cons

No Exterior View

Since the Inside Staterooms are in the middle of the ship, they do not have a verandah or window, so you can’t see the ocean or ports of call without stepping out to the decks.  If you don’t plan on spending that much time in your room, this may not matter much to you.

Smallest Room

At 169 square feet, the Inside Stateroom is the smallest room on the Wish.  As a point of comparison, the next largest room is the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom at 218 square feet.  Inside Staterooms can sleep up to 3 to 4 guests, but they can feel very tight with that many guests, especially once you factor in everyone’s luggage.

No Split Bathroom

All other room types on the Disney Wish have a split bathroom where one room has a shower/tub combo and sink and another has a toilet and sink.  This can be helpful when getting ready for the day.  However, the Inside Stateroom lacks this feature and has the shower/tub combo, sink, and toilet all in the same room.
