Guide to the Terrace Gardens at the Polynesian Island Tower

One of the unique amenities at the Polynesian Island Tower are the terrace gardens. There are four of these viewing areas within the tower, and they are exclusive to guests staying at the Island Tower since the elevators are only accessible with a magic band or key to the world card. Here’s a look at where you can find these terraces and what each has to offer.

Bamboo Terrace Garden

On the third floor of the Polynesian Island Tower is the Bamboo Terrace Garden, which is framed by wooden archways. It faces the Seven Seas Lagoon and offers fireworks views. Views of Cinderella Castle are best from the right side of this terrace. It also overlooks the rear entrance of the Island Tower with Wailulu Bar & Grill and the Cove Pool. As one of the larger terraces, it has plenty of couches and seats.  

Lava Rock Terrace Garden

Located on the fourth floor of the tower is the Lava Rock Terrace Garden with its large volcano mural. It offers views of greenways of the Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, which is just across the street from the Polynesian. As you lounge in the Lava Rock Terrace Garden, you may even spot the monorail as it glides by the resort!  

Wave Break Terrace Garden

Like the Bamboo Terrace Garden, the Wave Break Terrace Garden offers fireworks views. However, since the Wave Break Terrace is located on the fifth floor, it has a higher vantage point, and it is angled slightly more towards Cinderella Castle, offering a better view of Happily Ever After than the Bamboo Terrace Garden. Just note that there aren’t very many seats, so if you want to sit down for fireworks, you may want to arrive more than 20 minutes early.  

Lagoon Reef Terrace Garden

The smallest of the terrace gardens, the Lagoon Reef Terrace is located on the sixth floor and has views of the monorail and golf course like the Lava Rock Terrace Garden. It is an intimate, quiet spot to relax with colorful, curved benches and a large coral reef mural.
