Beyond these savings, another way to measure the difference in value between a resale contract and a direct one is the number of points you can purchase for the same price. To illustrate, let’s take a look at a Saratoga Springs direct contract versus a Saratoga Springs resale contract.
Why Saratoga Springs?
Saratoga Springs is consistently one of the most economical home resorts. It may not be walking distance to any theme parks, but you can walk or take a boat over to Disney Springs. Its most recent refurbishment in 2021 brought Murphy beds and a cleaner and brighter aesthetic to the rooms. The quiet resort grounds are perfect for a more laid back vacation. After all, who says that a Disney vacation can’t be relaxing?
As a home resort, Saratoga Springs offers a good contract length with an expiration date of 2054, and the current annual dues of $8.54 per point are on the lower end compared to those at other resorts.

As of July 2025, a direct contract at Saratoga Springs goes for $215 per point. If looking at an average size contract of 160 points, that direct contract would cost a total of $34,400. For that 160-point contract, you could get a weeklong stay in a Resort View or Preferred View Deluxe Studio at Saratoga Springs for most travel periods. You can even book a Resort View One Bedroom Villa for a week in September, which is the cheapest travel period.
How Much Can You Save with a Saratoga Springs Resale Contract?
As of June 2025, the average price per point for a Saratoga Springs resale contract is $97 per point. For a 160-point resale contract, the total cost would be $15,520. That’s $18,880 less than the cost of a 160-point direct contract!
How Many More Points Can You Get By Going with a Resale Contract?
Another way to look at the difference between direct and resale is that if you were to put the $34,400 that you would have spent on a direct Saratoga Springs contract towards a resale contract instead, you could purchase a 350-point contract!
