Are Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek the Best Kept Secrets?

When you want to stay close to the Magic Kingdom, you may picture Bay Lake Tower, the Grand Floridian, or the Polynesian. These resorts along the monorail loop are among the most popular resorts. However, if the Magic Kingdom is your favorite theme park, these aren’t your only options. Though sometimes overlooked, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek are just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. Here’s why you may want to consider one of these Wilderness Lodge DVC resorts as your home resort.
Cozy, Relaxed Atmosphere
Surrounded by pine trees and sitting just off of Bay Lake, Wilderness Lodge has a rustic charm with inspiration from the National Park lodges of the early twentieth century. Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek feel miles away from the crowds of Magic Kingdom and have a tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for unwinding. Neither one attracts visitors the way the monorail resorts do, so the lobby never feels hectic.

Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek truly shine during the holiday season. Between the enormous Christmas tree and the rocking chairs by the roaring fireplace in the lobby, there’s no cozier place to be!
Reasonable Price Per Point
Copper Creek contracts currently go for an average of $138 per point, which is substantially lower than the Grand Floridian ($158 per point) and Polynesian ($157 per point). While Copper Creek’s average price is similar to that of Bay Lake Tower ($134 per point), Copper Creek contracts are longer by 8 years.
For a shorter contract that ends in 2042, Boulder Ridge offers a very approachable price at a current average of $96 per point.
Low Points Charts
In comparison to the monorail resorts, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek have lower points charts. This means that it costs fewer points per night to stay at these resorts, which equates to more vacation stays for your points!
Great Casual Dining
If you prefer quick service or casual dining over signature dining, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek have some solid options. Geyser Point is a favorite for many thanks to its relaxed setting and outdoor deck with beautiful views of Bay Lake. It’s the perfect mix of lounge, pool bar, and quick service through its mobile order offerings.
Whispering Canyon Cafe is anything but quiet, but is known for its hearty all-you-care-to-eat skillets with a side of sass from the cast members who like to horse around. If you’re a fan of character dining, Story Book Dining at Artist Point serves a prix fixe dinner that features appearances from Snow White, Grumpy, Dopey, and the Queen!
Last but not least is Roaring Fork, Wilderness Lodge’s quick service restaurant. It offers classics like Mickey waffles, burgers, and sandwiches as well as house-smoked BBQ.
