Why Is Spring 2026 a Good Time to Sell Your DVC Contract?

DVC Members sell their contracts for all sorts of different reasons from shifting family needs to the desire for a longer contract.  No matter what your reason, if you’ve been considering selling your DVC contract, now is a great time to do it!  Here’s why.

Low Contract Inventory

It’s a seller’s market right now!  Inventory for DVC contracts on the resale market has been lower than normal.  To put it in perspective, the most recent average sales price report shared that there are 251 active resale listings as of March 2026, which is a 54% decrease in inventory compared to just a year ago when there were 545 active resale listings.  This lower inventory means less competition for sellers and a better opportunity for you to sell your contract quickly.

Prices Soon to Be on the Rise

Besides low contract inventory contributing to rising resale prices, it’s also likely that prices will increase due to changes in direct contract prices.  In February, Disney Vacation Club increased the price per point at several actively selling resorts. The Polynesian, Riviera, Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort, and Aulani all rose to $243 per point while the Villas at Disneyland Hotel is now $248 per point.  In the past, resale prices have increased in the months following a direct price increase.

Reimbursement for 2026 Dues

If you have paid up your annual dues for 2026, you have an opportunity to recoup those funds when you sell your contract.  When you list your contract, you can structure it so that the buyer reimburses you for those dues at closing.
