Which DVC Resorts Have a Community Hall?

When you’re looking for some down time throughout your Disney vacation, community halls can be a great place to visit for crafts, games, and more. While not every DVC resort has its own community hall, here’s where you can find them:

Disney World

Bay Lake Tower

You’ll find Bay Lake Tower’s community hall on the first floor of the resort, just before the south elevators. The community hall was recently renovated with lots of bright pops of color and touches of Joey Chou’s artwork, similar to what appears in the Contemporary lobby. In addition to crafts like ceramics, buttons, keychains, and wooden crafts, you’ll find movies, video games, and even some toys for young children.

The community hall is also where you go to rent racquets for tennis and pickleball and balls for tennis, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball. Unlike most community halls, the one at Bay Lake Tower sells a small selection of beverages, snacks, and essentials like ponchos and sunscreen.

BoardWalk Villas

Ferris W. Eahlers Community Hall at the BoardWalk is located right along the path to Hollywood Studios next to the Villas Pool. There is a wide variety of crafts like ceramics, design your own Minnie ears, magnets, tumblers, and more. The BoardWalk’s community hall has a lot of games available, such as table tennis, pool, cornhole, board games, arcade games, Wii, and Playstation.

If you’re looking to grill or play on the sports courts, you can check out the equipment and tools from the community hall.

Kidani Village

On the second floor of Kidani Village near the Palace Library is the Kidani Village Community Hall, where you can make crafts, such as African jewelry, ceramics, tumblers, or canvases. You can also play video games, billiards, and ping-pong or check out grilling tools or tennis racquets, basketballs, or shuffleboard equipment. If you just want to relax, you can take a seat on the balcony that overlooks the savanna.

Old Key West

Old Key West is home to Conch Flats Community Hall, which is located at Hospitality House. In addition to foosball, pool, video games, shuffleboard, and crafts like Mickey tie dye, Conch Flats Community Hall is the place to go for bike rentals (Hank’s Rent ‘N Return) and to sign up for pickleball clinics. It sometimes hosts activities such as the Conch Crazy Bingo night, which currently takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm to 9pm.

Saratoga Springs

You’ll find the Saratoga Springs Community Hall near the High Rock Spring Pool. You can choose from crafts like Mickey tie-dye or paint your own ceramic, canvas, or magnet; or design your own t-shirt, Mickey ears, or umbrella. There’s also the Win, Paint, Show painting class, which is a 2-hour instructor-led class for guests ages 12 and up.  If you prefer games, there are video games, board games, and even some touchscreen games for kids.

As with many of the other community halls, the one at Saratoga Springs offers rentals for sports equipment, grilling equipment, and surrey bikes.

Other Activity Centers Among the Disney World Resorts

Some DVC Resorts without community halls have other places for crafts and games.

Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek

At Wilderness Lodge (Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek), there’s Humphrey’s Hideout near the Copper Creek Springs Pool. This is where you can find crafts like coloring pages, Mickey tie dye, and ceramics. Note that the hours are fairly limited with the hideout open daily from 11:30am to 1:30pm and then open for additional crafts on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 3pm to 4pm.

Jambo House

If you’re staying at Jambo House and don’t feel like traveling to Kidani Village for the community hall, you can visit Simba’s Cub House for many of the same crafts like make-your-own jewelry, ceramics, and keychains. It’s located by the Uzima Springs Pool. There are also board games and video games plus toys and books for younger kids.

Riviera

On the first floor of Riviera, head to the Eventi Room for arts and crafts, such as animation cels, ceramics, and canvases. On select days, there’s the instructor-led Painting on the Riviera class. It’s currently held on Thursdays from 11am to 1pm. Aside from crafts, you can play board games or pick up a scavenger hunt or nature guide for a little self-guided resort exploration.

Other Locations

The Disney World DVC Resorts aren’t the only ones that have community halls! You’ll also find them at Hilton Head, Vero Beach, and Aulani.

Hilton Head

At Hilton Head, you’ll find the community hall near Broad Creek Mercantile. You can paint ceramics, make your own Mickey bracelet, or create other crafts. You can also play card games or board games, which you can borrow at the Front Desk.

Vero Beach

Vero Beach has a community hall with board games, puzzles, activities, and crafts like memory jars, seashell painting, tile art, and wine glass painting. There are even special Tot Crafts just for guests 5 and under.

Aulani

Located on the first floor of the ‘Ewa Tower (adjacent to the Waikolohe Valley pool area) is Aulani’s Pau Hana Room, the resort’s community hall. Besides the usual crafts and games, you’ll find some more unique activities, such as classes on how to play the ‘ukulele and Kāpala Ki’i t-shirt stamping, which is based on Native Hawaiian kapa printing. You can also head to the Pau Hana Room for instructions and equipment for the Menehune Adventure Trail, a scavenger hunt throughout the resort.
