Best DVC Resorts for Last Minute Trips
It’s always best to book your DVC reservations at the 11-month booking window, but sometimes it’s not practical. If you find yourself planning a last-minute trip, here are the top three resorts that are most likely to have availability at the 7-month mark or under. As a bonus, these resorts also happen to have low points charts, which helps DVC Members stretch their points further.
Saratoga Springs
When you’re looking for rest and relaxation, the peaceful, sprawling Saratoga Springs is the perfect place to stay. Guests love the rooms for their latest refurbishment, which included Murphy beds along with more modern decor. Saratoga Springs can even be a surprising choice if you love to spend resort days by the pool. If you’re looking for more dining options or more things to do while you’re staying at Saratoga Springs, you can always take the boat to Disney Springs.
With nearly 900 rooms, Saratoga Springs tends to have plenty of availability, even if you aren’t booking at the 11-month mark.
Old Key West
Also a boat ride away from Disney Springs is the laid-back Old Key West. As the original DVC Resort, Old Key West has some of the largest DVC villas, especially when it comes to the One Bedroom Villas and larger units. They truly feel like a home away from home, and many DVC Members have said that they could even see themselves happily living in the Old Key West villas. While you’re there, don’t forget to stop by Olivia’s Cafe for comfort food with dishes like Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken and Shrimp and Grits.
At around 750 rooms, Old Key West also has a lot of room inventory, which makes it easier to book.
Kidani Village
Animal Kingdom Villas includes both Jambo House and Kidani Village, but Kidani Village has a much larger inventory since the building consists of all DVC rooms. This makes it fairly easy to find a room at Kidani Village at the 7-month mark or under. As part of Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani offers some amazing savanna views. Even if you aren’t staying in a Savanna View room, you can still see the animals from some of the public overlooks or the windows of Sanaa, Kidani’s table service restaurant.
Kidani’s Samawati Springs Pool is great for families traveling with kids thanks to Uwanja Camp, a water playground with 3 different areas for kids of different age groups.
