Let’s Discuss DVC Booking for 2026 and 2027

Okay, we’re far enough into 2026 that you should have a strong idea about your vacation plans. You’ve likely already booked something or are ready to book in the seven-month window for the holidays. After that, you’re ready to plot your vacations for the first half of next year as well. So, let’s discuss DVC booking for 2026 and 2027. As an FYI, we’ll focus more on Walt Disney World reservations today.

What Are Your Summer Plans?

You may think that it’s too late to book a DVC reservation for this summer. Well, that answer isn’t as definite as you’d expect. During the 2020s, the temperatures have risen in Florida to the point that it’s impacting tourism. Walt Disney World pricing now indicates that it’s the offseason, an impossible thought to many of us.

Summer vacation always signified the best time to visit Disney…and it’s still phenomenal! Cool Kids’ Summer will return this year, and we’re getting Bluey as well. If you haven’t seen the lines yet for Bluey’s Best Day Ever! at Disneyland Park, let’s just say it’s like the BTS reunion tour. This part of the park is absolutely mobbed. In May, Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will add its own version of Bluey, giving families another great reason to visit.

Remarkably, as I type this in late March, you can book a One-Bedroom Villa on any day in July at four different resorts! Studios are available on many of those days as well, especially at Disney’s Old Key West Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. I doubt that statement will prove true for long, though. As proof, Hospitality House bookings at Old Key West only show three dates right now.

Then, in August, availability expands somewhat, with Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort an option. Also, for many of those dates, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort offers availability as well. You can marry a theme park vacation with a few days at the beach if so inclined.

Basically, the summer remains an option right now, but we all know it’ll fill up soon. Be proactive, and you still have a chance to book a great room. Remember that it never hurts to look because the options may surprise you.

Will You Visit Disney Late This Year?

With the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts drawing crowds in January, September has become the true slow season at Disney World. Despite this fact, the month is looking pretty booked right now. Disney can add a bit more inventory later, but you should still be aware.

The reasons why are understandable. DVC members target the early days of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Also, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has become a phenomenon, with virtually all dates selling out.

So, you shouldn’t be surprised to learn that October is also showing little availability now, especially for Studios. Disney fans relish the Halloween season, and it’s showing up in the booking data. On the bright side, October is much more open. That’s primarily because the seven-month window hasn’t opened yet, though.

To a larger point, summer really has become a less popular time for tourists and DVC members than the fall and winter seasons. I know that’s hard for many of us to accept, but it’s based in fact. Disney knows what it’s doing with its ticket pricing. Some summer tickets are cheaper for good reasons.

Overall, the DVC trend I’m tracking is that Disney attendance remains high. Therefore, you should use the power of your 11-month booking window whenever possible. And that brings us to early 2027…

How Should You Approach Next Year?

runDisney fans should prioritize (at least) one of three dates. Those are:

  • January 6th-10th, 2027
  • February 25th-March 1st, 2027
  • April 15th-18th, 2027

Those dates WILL book early because runDisney fans don’t mess around with their hotel reservations. DVC members should use their 11-month windows to reserve rooms ASAP to avoid getting shut out.

Then, we have the aforementioned Festival of the Arts, which has started on the third Friday of the month in the past two years. Presuming the same strategy in 2027, this festival will begin on January 15th and last until the final week of February. You should plan and book accordingly.

Spring Break is ongoing as I type this, with Disney theme park attendance increasing wait times by 10-15 minutes for each attraction. As such, you should expect DVC reservations to book quickly, possibly even before the seven-month window opens at many resorts.

Lately, Spring Break has fallen on the second or third week of March for many school systems. Since this one isn’t a finite set of dates, you unfortunately must guess for 2027, though. If you know someone in your school system, you may want to ask them if they’ve heard anything.

I wish I could be more specific. Alas, Easter’s date often impacts how school systems approach Spring Break. In 2026, it falls on April 5th, but then it’s March 28th, 2027. Some schools may try to make the final week of March the official Spring Break to make things easier.

The only other consideration is the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Lately, Disney has scheduled it to start on the first Wednesday of March and then end on the first Monday of June. Presuming that pattern holds, its 2027 dates will be March 3rd through June 7th. Based on the dates involved, it may end on the previous Monday, May 31st, 2027, though. Just use your best judgment. As long as you’re in the 11-month rather than seven-month window, you should be fine for most dates other than Spring Break and Easter Week anyway.
