Why DVC Appeals to Every Generation of Disney Fans

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Disney Vacation Club program is its comprehensive nature. Literally every kind of tourist can find something to enjoy as a DVC member. So, who loves what at DVC, and why?
One of the strengths of Disney Vacation Club is that the experience can evolve along with your family. Parents, grandparents and children may value different parts of a Disney vacation, but DVC can give each generation something to look forward to.
Parents Love the Long-Term Vacation Value
Depending on the date of your DVC Expiration Year, your current membership will last anywhere from 2042 through 2075. Just to be clear, your contract may remain valid for decades. Even the earliest-expiring DVC contracts still provide years of potential vacations.
Throughout that timeframe, your contract includes an allotment of DVC Points you gain at the start of each Use Year. Your points are like a magic fountain that keeps replenishing for years and years to come.
For parents, especially ones with young children, DVC contracts are literally the gift that keeps on giving. Moms and dads can plan future resort stays using their annual allotment of points rather than paying the standard cash rate for the room each trip.
That long-term predictability can be appealing as hotel prices change over time. DVC owners still have ongoing costs such as annual dues, but they already own the vacation points they use to book their DVC accommodations.

Grandparents Love the Relaxed Pace
I just exited a Disney cruise that included family members ranging from their 20s to their 70s. For this reason, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the multigenerational nature of Disney vacations.
When we’re in each age demographic, we approach our vacations differently, which I just witnessed firsthand. The 20-something went aggro on the cruise, trying to attempt as much of the itinerary as possible, while the 70-somethings relaxed and luxuriated in the sun.
DVC vacations work similarly. As we age out of a more active lifestyle, we prefer to take it easy. Can you name a better place to relax than at a DVC resort? I mean, some of them aren’t even at Disney theme parks. You can visit Hawaii or beaches in South Carolina or Florida if that’s your preference.
Should your family prefer a theme park visit, Disney has you covered there as well. DVC properties such as Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa cater to an older crowd. Their amenities encourage guests to embrace the tranquility and beauty of Disney resorts.
You can play tennis or a round of golf in between shopping visits to Disney Springs. When you’re ready, you can target a few of your favorite theme park attractions, going at your own leisurely pace.
For grandparents, Disney vacations function at the perfect speed: unhurried. If the rest of the family wants to be more aggressive, you can always catch up with them later.
That slower pace is one reason multigenerational DVC trips can work so well. Different generations can enjoy the same vacation without needing to spend every moment together.

Children Love the Disney Magic
Speaking of aggressive, kids live for Disney vacations. These are some of the best days of their lives, and every parent knows it. Moms and dads dream of those unforgettable vacation memories and photo ops at Disney.
For kids, the experience is much simpler. They can meet their favorite Disney characters in real life! When you’re at that age, the line between fantasy and reality often blurs, which explains many of the drawings on your refrigerator door. Kids believe that anything is possible, including the ability to hug a cartoon mouse.
Your child will experience sensory overload at Disney, and I mean that in the best possible way. They’ll roam from land to land, constantly marveling at all the familiar faces they see, especially at Magic Kingdom. Kids can meet Mickey Mouse almost as soon as they enter the park here.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, The Magic of Disney Animation recently opened. It’s home to several permanent character greetings. Just outside the building, The Walt Disney Studios hosts even more.
Then, we have the Disney Princesses who hold court at EPCOT’s World Showcase. Donald Duck has been known to hang out with the other members of the Three Caballeros at the Mexico pavilion, too.
Finally, we have arguably the most popular character meeting right now, at least for kids. Disney’s Animal Kingdom hosts Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station. For your child, meeting Bluey rivals even hugs from Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
That’s the thing about Disney. As we get older, we care more about rides and other attractions. When we’re kids, meeting our favorite characters matters most.

Everyone Can Find Their Own Way to Enjoy Disney
To a larger point, children of all ages will find activities they love at Disney theme parks. It’s the whole point of purchasing a DVC contract. You get to visit Disney as often as you want.
At a Disney theme park, almost anything is possible. You can travel to the distant past or fast-forward to the world of tomorrow. Along the way, you can sample some of the tastiest theme park cuisine ever created. Alternatively, you can drink your way around the World Showcase or go on a monorail crawl.
Adrenaline junkies can conquer several mountains at Magic Kingdom or go in reverse on Expedition Everest. You can also rock out at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
Should you prefer something calmer, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is always ready to take you for a tranquil spin around Tomorrowland. Next spring, the first new iteration of Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress will arrive, too.
Thanks to DVC, we get to enjoy these vacations as often as we like. There’s a reason why we all love DVC. There really is something for everyone at Disney.
DVC Can Grow With Your Family
One of the biggest advantages of DVC is that the way you vacation can change over time. A trip with young children may look completely different from a future trip with adult children or grandchildren, but the membership can continue to support those Disney traditions for years. For more on that long-term flexibility, see the DVC advantages for multigenerational families.
