A Look at the Updated Bay Lake Tower Community Hall

With a variety of recreational activities, the community halls at the DVC resorts are a great spot to enjoy some downtime on a resort day or a good place for some rainy day activities.  As Bay Lake Tower recently was refurbished, its community hall was also refreshed.  Let’s take a look around!

New Decor

The recently renovated community hall features brightly hued seating and a new mural in the front of the room where the TVs are mounted.  The coral-hued mural mirrors the Joey Chou artwork that appears in the Contemporary lobby.  If you look closely, you can spot icons such as a hidden Mickey and the 5-legged goat from Mary Blair’s mosaic in the Grand Canyon Concourse of the Contemporary.  

Crafts

Each table in the community hall is well stocked with markers, colored pencils, and crayons.  You can ask a cast member for a complimentary coloring sheet.  They have a variety of different characters to color like Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch, Ariel, and Pooh just to name a few.

For a fee, there are also other craft projects, such as buttons, magnets, keychains, ceramics, wooden crafts to paint, fuse beads, canvas art, and coasters.  These crafts range from $1 for the buttons to $35 for the most expensive ceramics.

Toys and Other Activities

Besides arts and crafts, you can watch TV, play video games, or play with toys.  On one side of the community hall, you’ll find bins full of toys suitable for younger children, including Mr. and Mrs. Potato head, stacking rings, MEGA BLOKS, magnetic toys, and cars.

Equipment Rentals

The community hall is also where guests can go for equipment rentals.  For example, you can rent complimentary tennis and pickleball rackets and balls, basketballs, and volleyballs to use on the courts adjacent to Bay Lake Tower.

Unlike most other community halls, the one at Bay Lake Tower sells some beverages, snacks, and a few essentials for rainy or sunny weather:
