Anticipated Direct Price Increase Coming January 16th, 2019
It is being reported by DVCNews.com and DVCInfo.com that a direct price increase is coming on January 16th. Although there was never a formal announcement, which is unusual as it tends to drive selling urgency for direct sales, this increase comes as no surprise with a 27% buy back rate on right of first refusal in December. Note that Disney Vacation Club has not confirmed increases, so prices may be subject to change.

If i want to buy a resort via “direct” how do i do that so i can have the option of buying into other future new resorts?
Paul – buying direct or resale now doesn’t prevent you from having the option of buying again. You can always add-on.
The 16th of January seems to have come and gone. Is there any official update on all of the rumors of a price increase?
Brett – yes, the price increase happened on the 16th.
i was worried that would happen after the huge buy back in december and the changes where resales can book after jan. 19.
I hope they don’t also increase the minimum (from the current 75).
I’m still planning on buying our 75 direct points to add to our resale contracts we bought with your help.
We have to wait until we’re on a disney property, so hopefully come July it will still be possible.
But you never know with Disney. 🙂
How long will it take for the new direct prices to affect the resale market? We are looking for the “right” contract at VGF or BLT, and I am wondering if we need to expand our search to include a larger contract.
