Can You Visit the Polynesian Island Tower?

There’s so much excitement around the new Island Tower at the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows! If you’re visiting Disney World, you may be interested in checking out the tower even if you aren’t staying there. However, it’s important to note that only some areas are open to visitors. Here’s what you need to know!
Open to Everyone
The first level of the Island Tower is open to anyone. This is where you’ll find the lobby and Wailulu Bar & Grill. Within the lobby, you can see examples of the beautiful sustainable artwork that represent different elements of nature and add to the Polynesian wayfinder theming of the resort.
Wailulu Bar & Grill is a great new addition to the Disney World dining scene. It offers a continental breakfast to go as well as lunch and dinner. The Polynesian inspired menu includes dishes such as musubi, ahi tuna crisps, poke bowls, and teriyaki chicken sliders. No reservations are required, which makes it a good pick for an impromptu visit.
It’s best to take Disney transportation to visit since the parking lot is only for guests staying at the resort. You can take the monorail from the Magic Kingdom or Transportation and Ticket Center or take a boat from the Magic Kingdom.
Open to All Guests Staying at the Polynesian
Since the Island Tower is part of the Polynesian, guests in either the original longhouses or the Island Tower are able to use shared amenities, such as the brand new fitness center and Cove Pool. The Cove Pool features a sandy beach, whirlpool spa, sun shelf, and beautiful views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom. Little ones can also enjoy Moana’s Voyage, a new splash pad with Moana on her outrigger canoe.
Open Only to Guests Staying at the Island Tower
A unique feature of the Island Tower are the Terrace Gardens. These viewing areas are only accessible by magic band or key card, so it is exclusive to Island Tower guests. There are four terraces: two face the Seven Seas Lagoon and two face the golf course across the street from the Polynesian. The ones facing the Seven Seas Lagoon have the perfect fireworks view of the Magic Kingdom!
