Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge to Open in 2027

Disney has just announced that a new Disney Vacation Club resort is on the horizon: Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is projected to open in 2027!  This new resort will be built on the land between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge that was originally cleared for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge.

What Was Reflections?

In October 2018, Disney had announced the plans for the nature-themed Reflections tower.  The 10-story resort was to include a mix of 900 hotel rooms and DVC villas, including some unique accommodations such as treehouse suites and A-frame cabins along Bay Lake.  The rooms were going to be themed after Disney films like Pocahontas, Bambi, Brother Bear, and The Fox and the Hound.

Reflections would have also been home to a Princess and the Frog-inspired restaurant.  While the land was being prepared for Reflections (including the demolition of the former River Country water park), all construction halted during the pandemic and did not resume until recently.

Construction Has Already Begun

Over the last few months, there have been construction permits filed, and now cranes and concrete columns are visible as work on the land has resumed.  Based on the permits filed, it appears that much of the original plans for Reflections will come to fruition but under the new name, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.

Between the resort’s location near Magic Kingdom and the new room types, there is so much to look forward to as Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge takes shape!
