DVC Resale Average Sales Prices for October 2020

Christmas lights at night on Main Street in Magic Kingdom at Disney World

This article features the average sales price of contracts categorized by resort and month sold from October 2019 through October 2020 by DVC Resale Market (DVCRM). Our goal for this article is to provide great directional information for anyone considering a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resale purchase or just wanting to satisfy a general curiosity of prices and trends.

Keep in mind that the price of a resort can still easily vary based on the size of the contract in points, the current point availability of the contract (i.e., points current, banked and borrowed) as well as other various factors (i.e., extended Old Key West contracts, subsidized dues contracts, etc.). For example, contracts that are smaller and have higher points availabilities tend to sell for more than the average price per point and vice versa.

DVC Resale Prices Continue Consistency in 2020

In a year where the travel industry and specifically theme industry has been significantly challenged to say the least, DVC resale prices have remained remarkably consistent. At the height of Disney closures during the pandemic this past spring, Disney average monthly resale prices dropped less than 5% from their marks at the beginning of the year. We previously discussed this phenomenon in July when DVC Resale prices, once again, achieved an all-time high selling price monthly average of $121 per point.

Months later the consistency continues as 2020 is coming close to an end, and peak season for Disney planning is just around the corner. Whether or not peak Disney planning season still follows a similar pattern to past years remains to be seen. Typically, peak planning season for Walt Disney World begins just after Christmas and runs until early spring. Peak Disney planning season typically impacts all Disney travel planners, DVC resale and DVC direct telesales.
