DVC Right of First Refusal (ROFR): October ’16 Report

In the month of October, Disney exercised their right of first refusal (ROFR) on 7 contracts sold through the DVC Resale Market, representing roughly 6.5% of the contracts sold in that same month.  Over half of the buy backs this month were Bay Lake Tower, making it the most commonly bought back resort year-to-date at the DVC Resale Market at 13.  Year-to-date there have been four resorts (Bay Lake Tower, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West and Boardwalk) that clearly stand out above the rest when it comes to ROFR buy backs as seen in the graph below:

For the 2nd straight month, high point availability was not common with the majority of contracts bought back.  In fact, 2 of the 7 contracts bought back didn’t have points coming until 2018.  For Bay Lake Tower, the commonality for a 2nd straight month was contracts sold at $110/point and under.
