Selling DVC: How Much Is My DVC Contract Worth?

There are so many different reasons why DVC Members choose to sell their contracts, whether it’s because they want to purchase a different contract with a different home resort or later expiration date, or they want to sell off a contract that they simply aren’t using much anymore. If you are considering selling your DVC contract, how much is it worth?
What Factors Influence Pricing?
The price of a DVC contract can depend on a few factors:
Number of Points
The more points on a contract, the more a contract is worth. However, it’s also worth noting that the price per point is generally lower with larger contracts and higher with smaller contracts. For example, the average price per point of an Animal Kingdom Villas contract is currently $113, but a small 50-point contract may be listed at more than $130 per point.
Point Availability
Beyond the size of the contract, the number of points available to use also influences the value of a contract. That is, a contract with banked points, current points, and points available to borrow will be worth more than a contract with no points to use until 2028.

As an example, there are currently two 160-point Animal Kingdom Villas contracts available, both of which happen to have the same December Use Year. The first contract has only 1 point to use for 2027 and then 160 in 2028. The second contract has 320 points available for 2026, 160 for 2027, and 160 for 2028. Since that second contract has more points available for use, it is priced at $127 per point whereas the other contract with fewer points available is priced at $110 per point.
Home Resort
The home resort of a contract is also a significant factor since demand varies greatly from resort to resort. Plus, deed lengths and annual dues vary across home resorts. If you want a good sense of what your home resort sells for, read the latest Average Sales Price report. You’ll notice that the average price per point can be as low as $53 for Vero Beach and as high as $254 for the Grand Californian.
Try the DVC Resale Market Online Tool
You can get an instant estimate of your DVC contract’s value by using DVC Resale Market’s online tool. To use it, you’ll select your home resort and Use Year from the drop down menus and then enter the number of points on the contract. You’ll then enter the number of points you have available for 2026, 2027, and 2028. Click on “Provide Value Estimate,” and you’ll get an estimated broker price option.

If you’re ready to sell your contract, the tool also lets you add your contract info, so you can request to list your contract or receive an instant sale quote, which is an immediate offer for your contract. While an instant sale isn’t as high a value as market price, it’s a good option for those looking to sell their contract immediately without putting it on the market.
