So many factors contribute to the value of a DVC Membership, whether you’re looking to buy, maintain, or sell a contract. Being a smart DVC owner or consumer means staying in the loop on the news that surrounds your ownership from changes in the company to changes in the parks and resorts. In an effort to keep you all up to date, I’m teaming up with DVC Resale Market each month to bring you a quick rundown of parks and company news that will help you make informed decisions about buying and selling and enjoying those points. Here are some great resources, tips, and pieces of information to make July in your Disney universe a great one!

Candlelight Processional Booking If Epcot’s Candlelight Processional is on your can’t-miss list (and it should be), get your game-face on. Dining packages are open for booking and some great celebrity narrators have been announced. New this year so far? Cal Ripken, Jr., who could put on a really interesting presentation of the show.

Groceries at Your Resort. Fast. Amazon Prime Now has been operating throughout Orlando for a while now to pretty great reviews. The best news? They deliver to the resorts. Amazon Prime members can arrange for delivery of thousands of grocery items to their resorts in under an hour for a $7 charge or in under two hours for FREE (tip your drivers!) using Amazon Prime Now with their Amazon Prime memberships. You do need to be present for the delivery (Amazon won’t hand off to Bell Services) and fresh produce and alcohol aren’t on the list of things you can get, but all in all, it’s a pretty great deal and prices are right in standard grocery range. There’s even a $10 coupon for your first delivery. Check Amazon Prime Now’s site for more details.

5 in the Studio Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas have both recently undergone soft goods refurbishments and now feature the super popular foldout sleeper beds that have been popping up all over property. The foldout units feature twin mattresses and can sleep adults if necessary. Addition of these beds bring studios to sleeping capacity of 5. The next resort up for soft goods refurb is Bay Lake Tower, with no word yet on whether the studio capacity will be upped there as well.

A Whole New World So many new rides and experiences are open at Walt Disney World including the Tree of Life Awakening and Jungle Book: Alive With Magic nighttime show at Animal Kingdom, Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire at Magic Kingdom, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” Fireworks show at Hollywood Studios, and Soarin’ Around the World and Frozen Ever After at Epcot. Be sure to check Fastness availability for the rides and your favorite blogs for the best touring advice.

Construction workers building the fence at Disney's Grand FloridianDisney World Beach Changes After a tragic accident involving an alligator at Disney’s Grand Floridian, Walt Disney World’s resort beaches are operating under new rules. Fencing and new signage have been installed, and the beaches are now staffed by cast members. Guests are asked to visit the beaches only during the hours between sunrise and one hour prior to sunset. This affects some resort recreational activities, so be sure to check with your resort to find out which activities are being offered during your stay. (Photo courtesy of Fox13news.com)

Dining Plan Changes The Disney Dining Plan is changing for 2017. Along with the usual price increases (and maybe one decrease?) the way that desserts and snacks will be allocated is also shifting. Check out this great rundown at Disney Tourist Blog for the specific details, most notably, “Counter Service meals will no longer include dessert. Instead, guests on both the Standard and Quick-Service Disney Dining Plans now receive 2 snacks each day instead of 1..”
