Polynesian Island Tower: What Does It Mean for My Polynesian Resale Contract?
This December, the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will have a new addition, the Island Tower. The tower will have 268 rooms and its own amenities, so how will the Island Tower impact owners of Polynesian resale contracts?
Can I Use My Resale Polynesian Points to Stay at the Island Tower?
Yes! Since the Island Tower is joining the existing Polynesian Villas & Bungalows condo association, DVC Members who own resale contracts at the Polynesian can book there too. Both direct and resale Polynesian owners will have the 11-month booking window for the original Deluxe Studios and Bungalows plus the Island Tower!
Although there will be Deluxe Studios at both the original longhouses and the Island Tower, they are separate booking categories, so it will be clear which location you are booking.
How Do Current Polynesian Owners Benefit from the New Tower?
There are lots of great things coming with the addition of the Island Tower! First, the Polynesian will no longer be limited to only Deluxe Studios and the Bora Bora Bungalows. The Island Tower will bring new room types to the Polynesian, including Duo Studios, Deluxe Studios, One Bedroom Villas, Two Bedroom Villas, and Two Bedroom Penthouses. More room types means greater flexibility to accommodate different size travel parties.
Second, the Island Tower will add more amenities for guests at the Polynesian to enjoy. There’s a new restaurant called Wailulu Bar & Grill with views of Cinderella Castle, the Cove Pool with a sandy beach area and views of the Seven Seas Lagoon, Moana’s Voyage splash pad, and a brand new fitness center.
Is There Any Downside to the Island Tower Being Added?
One potential con to the Island Tower is that the transportation options may feel more crowded with more guests staying at the Polynesian. Note that the Island Tower will not have its own monorail stop, so all Polynesian guests will need to board the monorail from the Great Ceremonial House.
