What DVC Members Love About BoardWalk Villas

A curved boardwalk at Disney's Boardwalk Resort

Picture it, the Atlantic City Boardwalk at the turn of the century. String lights illuminate the boardwalk as the sun sets, kids laugh and cheer as they play carnival games, and performers dazzle passersby with their magic tricks and musical talent. Thanks to the magic of Disney, you can live this experience at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. Let’s take a stroll around Crescent Lake and see why this resort is so beloved by Disney Vacation Club Members.

Location

One of the reasons that BoardWalk is so popular among DVC Members is the resort’s proximity to EPCOT. Those wishing to visit the World Showcase and beyond only have to walk out of the lobby and walk about seven minutes to arrive at the International Gateway. This makes the resort perfect for EPCOT festivals – like the upcoming Festival of the Holidays!

Friendship Cruiser

The resort is also close to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests can access this park via the Disney Skyliner, Friendship Boats, or a walking path that runs behind the resort.

Room Features

The turn-of-the-century Atlantic City Boardwalk feel carries through from the lobby and into the villas at this beautiful resort. Think of the décor of the villas as a mix of Beach Club airy-ness and Grand Floridian Victorian touches. Over the next few months, these villas will be undergoing extensive refurbishment, and we can’t wait to see the results in early 2024!

BoardWalk Villas have three booking categories based on their views: Standard, Garden/Pool, and Boardwalk. Standard Views mostly face the porte cochere and driveway leading up to the resort. Garden/Pool Views look onto the Luna Park Pool, the two leisure pools, or the garden areas behind the resort. Boardwalk views overlook Disney’s BoardWalk and are perfect for watching the nighttime entertainment and fireworks from EPCOT.

Dining

One of the reasons BoardWalk is so beloved is that it has so many dining options nearby! Guests can perk up before rope drop with coffee and breakfast pastries at Carousel Coffee. Those looking for a quick bite can venture onto the BoardWalk and stop into BoardWalk Deli for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This author loved the plant-based Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich and Italian Sub! Guests can also grab a quick slice of pizza at the BoardWalk Pizza Window.

Flying Fish Boardwalk Villas

The BoardWalk offers several great table-service dining options! Head to Big River Grille & Brewing Works for classic American fare and beer that is brewed on-site. Trattoria al Forno offers a creative breakfast menu (get the Breakfast Pizza) and signature Italian dishes for dinner. Guests looking for something a bit more upscale can book a reservation at Flying Fish, which features sustainable seafood and oak-grilled steak. And don’t forget to use Unlocked Magic’s Dining Reservation Finder to snag those hard-to-find dining reservations!

End the night with something sweet at BoardWalk Ice Cream. This take on a classic ice cream shop serves sundaes, shakes, and more! Soon guests with a sweet tooth will have another stop to make – The Cake Bake Shop® Bakery & Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers.

Guests looking for signature cocktails have four great options at this resort. Grab a marg to go at BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas. Can’t go wrong with the Grand Margarita! Sip on something poolside at Leaping Horse Libations. The Roller Coaster Meltdown is especially delicious! Enjoy a Belle Vue Cosmopolitan in the luxurious and tranquil Belle Vue Lounge, just off the lobby. The real hidden gem of the BoardWalk lounges is AbracadaBar. This magician-themed lounge features signature cocktails like The Conjurita, mixed by bartenders with a few tricks up their sleeves.

Resort Activities & Amenities

Disney’s BoardWalk Villas offer three pools, perfect for a resort day or a midday cooldown. The resort’s feature pool – The Luna Park Pool – features a 200-foot-long waterslide and theming reminiscent of the 1920s. Those looking for a more laid-back pool day can enjoy the two leisure pools – one near Ferris W. Eahlers Community Hall and one on the Inn side of the resort. When the kids are done splashing in the pool, they can enjoy Luna Park Crazy Play Area!

In addition to its pools, BoardWalk has several great recreation options. Side Show Games Arcade features new and classic arcade games. Sailors at heart can rent motorized boats, and anglers can enjoy fishing in Crescent Lake during guided fishing excursions. When the sun goes down, guests can gather around a campfire or enjoy Movies Under the Stars.

For guests who wish to maintain their fitness routine, BoardWalk has a great fitness center beside Luna Park Pool – Muscles & Bustles Health Club. Cardio equipment includes treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers and stationery bikes. Weight-training guests will be especially happy to see several weight machines, as well as free weights, available for their use. Guests can also enjoy a jog around Crescent Lake, rent a surrey bike, or play a game of tennis or pickleball.
