This summer, Universal Studios Orlando is rolling out a host of new attractions, events, and experiences that promise to make your visit unforgettable. DreamWorks Land

This summer, Universal Studios Florida has rolled out the red carpet for its newest addition, DreamWorks Land. This vibrant and whimsical area brings to life the beloved worlds of DreamWorks Animation characters from Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda. From interactive play areas to character meet-and-greets, and a brand-new indoor live show, there’s something for everyone in the family.

Explore Shrek’s Swamp, hop on the Trollercoaster, and meet Po in the Panda Village. You can even encounter Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse. One of the highlights is the DreamWorks Imagination Celebration, a multisensory live show that immerses you in the stories of your favorite DreamWorks characters.

As a foodie at heart, I had to sample the new snack offerings in DreamWorks Land. First, I tried the Swamp Dog from Swamp Snacks. This $9.49 delight is an oozing green cheese hot dog wrapped in pizza tree bark. It was served piping hot, and the combination of the spicy pizza bread with the hot dog was perfect. For dessert, I visited Trolls Treats, located in the big yellow boombox in the middle of DreamWorks Land. Inspired by the vibrant spirits of Poppy and Branch, I opted for the huckleberry-flavored BroZone Berry, a refreshing blue raspberry-inspired soft-serve that I’ll definitely be coming back for.

CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular

The Universal Studios Florida lagoon has been transformed with the all-new nighttime show, CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular. This exhilarating show celebrates the emotional power of music, featuring iconic scores and scenes from blockbuster films like Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Jaws, Shrek, and more.

The impressive collection of technologies and special effects used in this show is just as awe-inspiring as the films it features. With 288 fountains reaching heights up to 131 feet, incredible 4K projection mapping, an original composition featuring newly arranged scores, and more than 600 drones flying directly over the lagoon, CineSational is a breathtaking display of unforgettable cinematic moments.

As a music enthusiast, I absolutely fell in love with this show. Universal has masterfully woven together some of the best film scores in history into a 25-minute spectacle. Speaking with the Universal Creative Team, they emphasized that the show’s elements are meant to complement each other, allowing the music to lead. I can’t wait to see it again!

Hogwarts Always Castle Projection Show

On select nights, visitors to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade can enjoy the nighttime extravaganza, Hogwarts Always. This incredible new projection show takes guests on a journey through iconic moments of a school year at Hogwarts, all set against the majestic backdrop of Hogwarts Castle.

The show features four different endings that celebrate each Hogwarts house, culminating in a colorful pyrotechnic display. Fans will hear dialogue from beloved characters like Professor Dumbledore, Hagrid, and the Sorting Hat throughout the show. I had the pleasure of watching two versions of the show while enjoying a Butterbeer – one with Hufflepuff winning and the other with Slytherin. The projections are stunning, and the additional fog and lighting effects around Hogsmeade make it the perfect end to a magical day.

Universal Mega Movie Parade

Starting July 3, Universal Studios Florida will debut the Universal Mega Movie Parade, the park’s biggest daytime parade to date. This spectacular celebration features iconic movies like E.T., Back to the Future, Jaws, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, Minions, Sing, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda. The parade includes 13 brand new floats, nearly 100 performers, and special effects that create a jaw-dropping experience.

Highlights include the massive 16-foot Stay Puft Marshmallow Man atop the Ghostbusters float, the colorful Caterbus on the Trolls float, and a live marching drum line performing the iconic Jaws score alongside a themed float. The finale features a Gyrosphere, Raptors, and the fierce Tyrannosaurus rex from Jurassic World, breaking the record for the largest figure ever featured in a Universal Orlando daytime parade. Be sure to pay close attention to spot additional details nodding to iconic elements from the films.
