Which DVC Resorts Are Being Refurbished in 2025?
At the most recent DVC condo association meetings, DVC Members received some exciting updates on their home resorts, including refurbishment news! If you are planning a Disney trip in 2025, here are the DVC resorts that will be undergoing renovations.
Bay Lake Tower
Bay Lake Tower is already in the midst of its very first full refurbishment since it opened in 2009. However, the construction is projected to continue through September 2025 as work takes place in sections throughout the resort.
Disney has notified guests that they can expect to hear and see construction, and the Skybridge connecting Bay Lake Tower and the Contemporary will be closed temporarily. During that time, guests will still be able to walk outside between Bay Lake Tower and the Contemporary on the ground level.
The good news is that newly refurbished rooms should be available to guests around the end of December 2024 or early January 2025! These refreshed rooms will have Murphy beds in place of the old sofa beds, USB ports, smart TVs, and updated furnishings and appliances. While no concept art has been released, eagle-eyed guests have noticed Mary Blair-style artwork on the Murphy beds that feature Cinderella Castle as well as teal backsplashes in the kitchens. The room layouts and capacities remain the same with up to 4 adults in the Deluxe Studio since no single pull-down bed will be added.
In addition to the rooms, Bay Lake Tower’s common areas, such as the lobby and community hall, will also undergo refurbishment. Beyond 2025, the Bay Cove Pool, water play area, and whirlpool spa will be closed for refurbishment in January to May 2026. During that time, guests at Bay Lake Tower will still be able to visit the Bay Lake Pool at the Contemporary.
Kidani Village
The long-awaited full refurbishment for Animal Kingdom Lodge is starting in October 2025 with Kidani Village! The project is expected to run through June or July 2026. During the Animal Kingdom Villas condo association meeting, not many room details were revealed. However, it was confirmed that the refurbishment will include Murphy beds as seen in other recent refurbishments. It was also announced that the updated room design will include a new brighter color palette. Once Kidani Village has been renovated, Jambo House will undergo refurbishment in 2026.
Copper Creek
Having opened in 2017, Copper Creek will undergo its first soft goods refurbishment. Construction will begin in spring 2025 and is expected to last for about a year. Expected changes can include minor updates to the bedding, curtains, textiles, artwork and paint. According to the discussion during the condo association meeting, it has not been determined whether or not Copper Creek will replace its sofa beds with Murphy beds.
Grand Californian
In 2025, the Grand Californian will have a full refurbishment. It will likely include Murphy beds as some rooms have been outfitted with them as a sort of test run, and a construction permit in late 2023 also made mention of them. A full refurbishment was originally announced in 2021 and then was removed from the refurbishment schedule in 2022, so this update to the rooms has been long anticipated!
Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs
While most of Saratoga Springs underwent a full refurbishment that was completed in 2021, the Treehouse Villas were not part of that cycle. In 2025, the Treehouse Villas will get a full refurbishment. While no details have been released about the new design of the Treehouse Villas, full refurbishments typically include furniture, fixtures, and appliances. In some cases, there are major updates to the bathrooms, kitchens, or general room layouts.
All in all, DVC Members can look forward to some exciting changes coming soon to their favorite resorts!
