Best DVC Resorts for Spring Visits
Ah, spring. It’s easily the happiest of all seasons, presuming you don’t have any allergies. You’ve officially banished Old Man Winter to the nether realm for another nine months. So, you might as well go out and celebrate with a Disney vacation, but…where should you stay? Here are the best DVC resorts for spring visits.
Disney’s Beach Club Villas
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival goes part-and-parcel with spring vacations. For more than 30 years now, DVC members have attended Walt Disney World’s oldest exhibition. We know all the joys of Outdoor Kitchens and the exclusive merchandise on sale during these events.
Many of you know more about Flower & Garden than I ever could, and I’ve gone almost every year since 2012. That’s how much this festival means to many of us. It’s an annual tradition that DVC members anticipate throughout the year. The 2026 version ended in early June, and I think I speak for many of us in saying I miss it already.
The reality is that none of us wants to stay far from the World Showcase during Flower & Garden. We tend to *ahem* indulge a bit, which can make the trip back to the resort a bit of an adventure. Beach Club mitigates this problem because we can drink to our fill. Then, we can walk back to our hotel room, albeit usually not in a straight line.
I’m saying this jokingly, but there’s some truth to it. A festival day at EPCOT can wear you out. I’m speaking from experience here. Staying at the DVC property right by the International Gateway is the ideal strategy. If Beach Club is booked, you can swap in Disney’s BoardWalk Villas instead. I prefer Beach Club for Stormalong Bay, a bonus treat during spring.
Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa
Did you know that Disneyland Resort also hosts an annual spring festival? If you’re a Disney California Adventure fan, I’m confident that the answer is yes. After all, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has evolved into a seminal event on the annual Anaheim calendar.
The locals in Southern California know that they can meet celebrity chefs and geniuses from Disney’s kitchens. Tourists fly in just to combine their love of The Happiest Place on Earth with their appreciation of the Sip and Savor Passes.
So, the advantage I listed for Beach Club (and BoardWalk) is that much better for the Grand Californian. You exit the hotel lobby, you make one turn, go through security, and you’re ready to Sip and/or Savor. Many of the rooms at this resort overlook DCA and even some of the Food & Wine booths. You just can’t do any better during the spring than holing up at the Grand Californian during this festival.
Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort
Let me set the scene for you. Throughout the winter, you’ve been sporting the layered look. You’re wearing your thickest coat whenever you go out. As soon as you get home, you sip hot cocoa and turn up the electric blanket to its highest setting. You’re freezing.
How good does a beach sound right about now? Yeah, that’s the appeal of Hilton Head Island in the spring. You’ve just suffered for several moments. You deserve to feel the sand beneath your toes. A fruity drink with an umbrella in it is calling your name.
Hilton Head serves a second purpose as well. All the local cuisine here has turned into a global sensation. Chefs in this part of South Carolina have won Michelin stars and competed on Top Chef. The brewmasters have caused a stir with all their homebrews. So, you can exit your “drinks with marshmallows in them” phase and veer hard into re-living the highlights of past Spring Breaks.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Once the weather changes, you can return to the links once more. Winter golf isn’t even a popular idea with the diehards. This is a hobby to be enjoyed in warm weather.
So, as soon as spring arrives, you can dust off your clubs and head to Old Key West. Your room may include a view of Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Disney is renovating this course as we speak to modernize it.
Before the changes, Lake Buena Vista had already hosted PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, and USGA events. This is a premier course and just the reward you need for surviving a grueling winter.
If golf isn’t your preferred spring outdoor sport, you can play pickleball and tennis at Old Key West, too. It’s an ideal place to spend time in the spring. Also, the entire campus features a beach vibe, making it a Hilton Head-esque resort just a few minutes from EPCOT.
