Best Economical DVC Resort to Purchase: Fall 2016
At DVC Resale Market we like to keep an economic Disney Vacation Club Resort ranking updated for our clients as prices, dues, resorts and Disney can change over time. We started providing this ranking in the Fall of 2014, and this blog represents our 5th in the series.
For those DVC Members looking to add-on and potential new DVC Members looking to join that want to answer the question, which resort should I choose? Let the chart below add some assistance. The chart below will not completely answer which is the right resort for you, but it will answer the question based on just an economic perspective considering years left on the deed (including the current year but not including the final year ending on January 31), price per point and dues, how do the Disney Vacation Club Resorts compare.
For those members and potential new members who want the best overall economical DVC purchase that answer is consistently Saratoga Springs. At $7.65/pt. per yr. based on current pricing and dues Saratoga Springs leads all DVC Resorts once again, followed for the 3rd straight year by Bay Lake Tower at $7.94/pt. The highest cost resort for the second straight year is Beach Club at $10.36/pt. Please keep in mind this chart only considers economic value and not home resort priority value, which can be subjective based on one’s desire to book at their favorite resort of choice.

This cost per point per year from the chart above can be used to help determine what a member theoretically pays for a Disney Vacation Club Villa. For example, let’s say you purchased a Bay Lake Tower contract and were going to stay at Bay Lake Tower in a Lake View studio for one night on a weekday in Choice Season (includes much of the Fall dates including Oct. 1- Nov. 21). The amount of points needed for that one night would be 18, and the estimated cost per point per year according to the chart above would be $7.94. So multiply the number of points needed by the cost per point and the result is 18 x $7.94 or $143/night.
