DVC Resale Average Sales Prices for July 2020
This article features the average sales price of contracts categorized by resort and month sold from July 2019 through July 2020 by DVC Resale Market (DVCRM). Our goal for this article is to provide great directional information for anyone considering a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resale purchase or just wanting to satisfy a general curiosity of prices and trends.
Keep in mind that the price of a resort can still easily vary based on the size of the contract in points, the current point availability of the contract (i.e., points current, banked and borrowed) as well as other various factors (i.e., extended Old Key West contracts, subsidized dues contracts, etc.). For example, contracts that are smaller and have higher points availabilities tend to sell for more than the average price per point and vice versa.
DVC Resale Prices Reach All-Time Highs Again
In July, average prices rose for 13 out of 15 DVC Resorts, driving the overall average price per point to tie an all-time high mark from October 2019.
Thus far, the biggest impact to DVC resale value that can be attributed to the pandemic was felt in May, as the average selling price per point was $112. The positive takeaway for DVC owners is this represented a less than 5% drop from January and February prices. Additionally, July prices represented not only a bounce back but a bump ahead of the average selling price pre-pandemic at $121 per point.
This selling price bounce back is not entirely surprising given DVCRM Welcomed Home 959 families from May through July. This marked the highest number of sales in company history for a May through July time frame. This is signaling a positive trend for DVC sales as well as a potentially continued strong future for Disney Parks and Resorts overall.
