DVC Resale Average Sales Prices for September 2020

Grand Californian lobby fourth floor

This article features the average sales price of contracts categorized by resort and month sold from September 2019 through September 2020 by DVC Resale Market (DVCRM). Our goal for this article is to provide great directional information for anyone considering a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resale purchase or just wanting to satisfy a general curiosity of prices and trends.

Keep in mind that the price of a resort can still easily vary based on the size of the contract in points, the current point availability of the contract (i.e., points current, banked and borrowed) as well as other various factors (i.e., extended Old Key West contracts, subsidized dues contracts, etc.). For example, contracts that are smaller and have higher points availabilities tend to sell for more than the average price per point and vice versa.

DVC Resale Prices Continue Steady Rise

In September, we saw average prices for 10 out of 15 DVC Resorts increase, while 3 stayed the same and only 2 experienced decreases. Typically, in the fall we begin to see prices have a slight drop off as demand softens until just after Christmas. However, this is 2020, and we are learning to expect the unexpected. For now, inventory continues to be tight and with Disney significantly increasing their buy back volume, inventory tightening may only continue. If so, we may not see that usual fall pricing lull, or at least not in the same magnitude as usual.
