Hall of Presidents

Welcome to the News You Need! December is here, and so is lots of news that can change the way you vacation at the Disney parks and properties! Let’s get started on the News you Need!

Magical Express Pickup Time Change – Walt Disney World has changed Magical Express pickup times to four hours before guests’ flights. Guests are reporting that on any given day you may encounter restrictions at Orlando International Airport that keep you from entering security lines more than 2 hours prior to your flight, leaving you with plenty of time to waste in the terminals. So bring a good book, or better yet catch a ride share and get a little more sleep or time in the World.

Epcot Gets a Christmasy Scavenger Hunt – Guests of Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays can now experience the fun of the park’s scavenger hunt trend. Chip and Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree is a scavenger hunt with map, stickers, and prize, much like the Easter hunt (pictured at left). Guests can purchase their maps at designated purchasing and redemption stores for $6.99. The game involves finding special Christmas decorations that match the stickers on the map in each pavilion. Once the hunt is complete, the finished maps may be redeemed at any redemption location for one of three super cute button sets based on the hunt’s theme. No discounts can be used, but the hunt is a really great activity for a pretty low price.

Otterbox and Disney Team Up – Otterbox and Disney have announced that Otterbox is now the “official protective case” of Walt Disney World and Disneyland. New Disney styles will be available throughout the parks and in wide range at D-Tech locations. For those who can’t make it to the parks but want to share in the excitement, Disney styles are also available on Otterbox.com

Moonlight Magic Dates Announced for Next Year with MORE Dates Added – Disney has announced that not only will Moonlight Magic continue for Disney Vacation Club members in 2018, but more dates will be added, and new venues are on the list! Moonlight Magic Nights include 1/11, 1/28, and 2/6 at Magic Kingdom; 3/21, 4/17, and 5/16 at Animal Kingdom; 5/30 and 6/11 at Typhoon Lagoon; 6/16 and 8/13 at Epcot, 11/15 at Disney California Adventure; and new to the parks lineup this year for Moonlight Magic, 9/19, 9/26, and 10/3 at Hollywood Studios! Check the Disney Vacation Club member site for details and registration procedures and deadlines for each date and have fun!

Hall of Presidents to Reopen – After an incredibly long closure to add the newest presidential animatronic, the Hall of Presidents will reopen with President Trump’s addition some time within the next few weeks. Though no official date has been given, the attraction is said to be scheduled to operate “before Christmas.”
