Why Bay Lake Tower May Go Up in Value Soon

With all of the Polynesian Island Tower news lately, it’s easy to forget about its monorail loop neighbor, Bay Lake Tower. However, a few recent updates for Bay Lake Tower may push its price per point up in the near future.
Push from Direct Incentives
Among the recent incentives from DVC were sales on a few resorts, including Bay Lake Tower. If direct sales of Bay Lake Tower went well, DVC will be more likely to buy back contracts during Right of First Refusal (ROFR) in order to increase its inventory of points to sell. That in turn will put more pressure on the price per point to increase for Bay Lake Tower resale contracts in order to pass ROFR.
Ongoing Refurbishment
Bay Lake Tower is currently under a refurbishment that is expected to last through September 2025. This is a hard goods refurbishment, which is a full renovation that includes updates to the fixtures, furniture, appliances, and floors. While DVC has not yet released any concept art or details on what the finished rooms will look like, current refurb trends seem to point to a Murphy bed to replace the sofa beds, a smart TV, and more outlets to charge all your devices. With refreshed rooms, Bay Lake Tower will be in greater demand.

Points Chart Value
DVC recently shared the updated Polynesian points chart with the new Island Tower rooms included. In comparing the monorail resorts, the Bay Lake Tower points chart is the lowest. This means that your points can stretch further at Bay Lake Tower compared to at the Grand Floridian or Polynesian.
For example, a week in a Lake View Two Bedroom Villa in January costs 431 points at the Grand Floridian but 315 at Bay Lake Tower–that’s a 116-point difference! Looking at the Theme Park View One Bedroom Villas in January, it costs 343 points for the week at the Polynesian and 287 at Bay Lake Tower, a difference of 56 points.
With Bay Lake Tower’s better point chart value, it wouldn’t be surprising if it gains popularity among those looking for a more economical monorail loop home resort.
