How Can DVC Member Services Help You?

DVC Members can do a lot on the DVC website from booking trips to banking points and adding the Disney Dining Plan, but there are some things that DVC Member Services can help with.  Whether you are a direct DVC Member or resale DVC Member, there are a few instances where it’s worth giving Member Services a call.  

Purchasing One-Time-Use Points

When you’re short a few points to complete a reservation, one-time-use points can be a great option.  You can purchase these points at the 7-month mark or under by calling Member Services.  They cost $20 per point, and you can buy up to 24 of them per Use Year per membership.  Should you end up cancelling a trip with one-time-use points, just remember that these points need to be used before they expire at the end of the Use Year.

Combining Split Stays Into One Reservation

Sometimes you end up booking your DVC trip in pieces when availability is tight.  When this happens and all legs of the trip are for the same resort, room type, and booking category, you can combine them into one reservation.  This way, you can stay in the same room throughout your trip instead of checking in and out multiple times.  You’ll need to call Member Services for assistance since this is something that you cannot do yourself online.   

Point Transfers

When you’re planning a trip with extended family or friends, it can help to do a point transfer.  Transfers allow DVC Members to send their points to another DVC Member who can then use those points as their own to book trips.  Like purchasing one-time-use points, point transfers can only be done by calling Member Services.  

Changing the Primary Guest on a Reservation

Most of the time, you as the DVC Member, are the primary guest on your resort reservation.  However, if you are gifting a stay to friends or family or renting out your points, you’ll need to change the name of the primary guest.  While you can change the names of the other guests online, you’ll have to call Member Services or chat with them to change the primary guest.
