Disney Reveals Halloween Party Details for 2026

April 30th and May 1st are historically the Halfway to Halloween dates, but we’re getting a head start this year. Disney just revealed Halloween party details for 2026. Here’s what you need to know.

It’s the Most Wonderfully Spooky Time of the Year

In 1995, Disney threw a Halloween party, and Magic Kingdom hasn’t been the same since then. At the start, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was a single-day event on Halloween Night. Guests paid a modest $16.95 to attend, the equivalent of $36.42 in 2026 dollars. While the price has changed significantly since that night, so has the experience itself.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) has evolved into one of the signature events on the annual calendar. In truth, this party has grown into a three-month signature event that defines Walt Disney World’s fall season.

After more than 30 years, Disney has perfected the art of spooky holiday fun, and this year may be the best party yet. Disney has spent Halfway to Halloween Week listing dates and details about MNSSHP 2026. So, pull out your credit cards while I tell you when to book.

What Are the Dates and Details for This Year’s Party?

August 7th is the date you need to know for 2026. Magic Kingdom will host the first Halloween party then and a total of nine in August. Then, September will feature 13 more events, followed by another 16 in October. That’s 38 different nights of MNSSHP in 2026. Here are the exact dates:

  • August 7th, 11th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th, and 30th
  • September 1st, 4th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 27th, and 29th
  • October 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, 31st

Note that there are no November dates this year. So, MNSSHP 2026 ends on Halloween Night, which is as it should be.

The Disney Parks Blog points out that this year’s August/September schedule follows an easy-to-remember pattern. The Halloween parties occur on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with one exception. September 24th is a Thursday. So, for the most part, you’ll know whether there’s a party during your Walt Disney World vacation.

October is a different beast, with Disney throwing parties on most days that month. As the blog states, “ghouls can descend upon Magic Kingdom every Thursday; most Fridays, Sundays, most Tuesdays; and Saturday on Halloween.” Basically, Mondays and Wednesdays are the only days when Magic Kingdom definitely won’t host parties in October. Every other day of the week is fair game.

Let’s Talk Tickets

Next Tuesday is the big day for Disney fans. On May 5th, guests staying at official Walt Disney World resorts can purchase MNSSHP tickets. The one caveat here is that you must already have a hotel reservation to do so. As an FYI, it’s not too late. As long as you book a room before May 5th, you will gain first-day access to ticket sales.

Everyone else must wait until May 12th to book. Historically, the dates that are most likely to sell out first are Halloween Night and the first few nights of the event. So, if you’re not planning to visit on those dates, the May 12th booking window should be fine.

If you want Halloween Night or opening night, though, I’d strongly recommend that you schedule a hotel reservation and then be ready to buy tickets on May 5th. I cover MNSSHP ticket sales each year, and I know from experience that tickets sell more quickly than casual fans expect.

As usual, annual passholders and qualifying DVC members receive ticket discounts.

If you’re planning to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there’s another option to keep in mind. You can save 10% on tickets through Unlocked Magic, available starting May 12—be sure to check back and secure your spot.

What Can You Expect at This Year’s Party?

Disney has already confirmed that your favorite elements of the Halloween parties are back this year. You can trick-or-treat at the refill stations, home to what I consider the tastiest Starburst on the planet. Disney has also confirmed the following character greetings for 2026:

  • Aladdin
  • Ariel
  • Eric
  • Jack Skellington
  • Jasmine
  • Mickey Mouse
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Sally

Historically, Disney hosts about 30 different characters. So, we’re just scratching the surface with these names.

Take a look at Mickey and Minnie’s 2025 Halloween costumes and watch the 2025 Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade:

The beloved Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade will return for 2026. If you’re anything like me, you just got the most pleasant earworm. The ever-popular Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is also back, allowing you to go amok! Amok! AMOK!!!

Other returning favorites include Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular, the Stitch dance party at Rockettower Plaza Stage, and the Cadaver Dans. Basically, it’s everything about the Halloween Party that you know and love.

You can experience all the MNSSHP joy starting on August 7th. Before then, you must purchase tickets starting on May 5th or May 12th. Otherwise, you risk getting shut out because EVERY Halloween Party sells out.
