Let’s Discuss the Booking Options at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel

For the longest time, DVC fans of The Happiest Place on Earth somehow weren’t happy. They knew that DVC lacked inventory at Disneyland Resort. It was an ongoing issue for more than a decade, but Disney has thankfully solved it! Let’s discuss the booking options at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.
Let’s Talk about the Duo Studios
The hottest Room Type in the DVC program is now available at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, which I’ll simply call The Villas for the rest of this article. Disney’s Riviera Resort introduced this Room Type as a means of satisfying smaller traveling groups.
Some people don’t need much space in their hotel room. Generally, solo travelers and couples can get by with just a bed, a kitchenette, and a sitting area. So, some DVC rooms feel a bit wasteful, especially for guests who don’t intend to spend much time in their rooms.
So, DVC introduced this smaller Room Type, which The Villas lists as Duo Studios. It’s actually the smallest version, possessing 250 square feet of space. That’s five square feet less than the one at the Riviera. However, as you can see in this Disney video, it’s a charming room.
When you stay in a Duo Studio, you’ll realize that Disney has maximized the space. Even the furniture here takes on a nesting doll aspect in that when not in use, the ottomans fit under the nightstands. The spatial limitations of these rooms have brought out the creative side of the designers, leading to a fascinating, clever space. It’s also marvelously intimate for couples in love.
Let’s Talk about the Deluxe Studio
Our friends at DVC Fan were first on the scene when The Villas opened. They kindly posted a video of the hotel’s exquisite Deluxe Studio. Take a look:
This Room Type sleeps four, which is double what Disney allows in the Duo Studio. You can’t help but notice that the larger room appears cavernous by comparison. That’s not your imagination, as the room is 48 percent bigger. It contains 370 square feet of space.
While not the largest DVC Studio in the catalog, it’s nearly the same as the 379-square-foot Studio at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. In other words, the two DVC options are effectively identical in terms of size.
You may prefer The Villas’ Studio due to its newness and layout, though. The living room area features an extended desk. Thanks to the illuminated mirror, it’s an excellent substitute dressing area as well. Even better, this space resides perpendicular to the kitchenette area. So, it’s an efficient setup for a DVC vacation of any length.
I’ll add that this room includes the pulldown bed, which is currently popular with DVC. When you open the bed area, you’ll discover a delightful Sleeping Beauty photo that’s resplendent with its night blue coloring. These are the touches that elevate DVC spaces.
Let’s Talk about the Garden Rooms and Preferred Rooms
You should understand that the Garden Rooms cost a bit more per night/week according to the Points Chart. Oddly, they’re not a part of the Preferred/Standard Room Type discussion, as it’s a separate conversation.
At The Villas, rooms with Standard View offer backdrops of the various streets, parking lots, and a bit of the gardens. You should expect the first two and be pleasantly surprised when you get the garden view. Meanwhile, the Preferred View at this hotel primarily consists of staring down at the pools.
Meanwhile, Garden Rooms are separate from the expansion tower. So, the view is a bit different. You’re spending a few more DVC Points per night/week in exchange for proximity to the pool. Plus, you receive a patio or balcony in the exchange. You’re definitely booking a better hotel room experience when you choose this Room Type.
Only you can decide whether it’s worth the extra cost in DVC Points. This video quickly displays the logistics of a Garden Room, better helping you understand what you’d get.
Let’s Talk about the Villas
This hotel offers One-, Two-, and Three-Bedroom Villas. The One-Bedroom Villas sleep five, while both other options sleep 12. So, you may skew toward the latter Villas when you’re traveling with a larger party.
The One-Bedroom is plenty for most smaller parties, though. You’ll gain the two prime enhancements in Villas: the full-sized kitchen and a washer-dryer unit. The latter is the typical single unit with the top-down design.
Disney has decorated these rooms with a delightful The Princess and the Frog or Fantasia theme. In particular, the New Orleans vibe makes them feel welcome, as does the comfy sofa with an extended lounge chair. These rooms feature a king-sized bed, a pull-down queen bed, and a pull-down twin bed.
The One-Bedroom Villas include 754 square feet of space. So, you’re really stepping up when you book a Two- or Three-Bedroom instead. They cover 1,161 square feet and 2,700 square feet, respectively.
In terms of bedding, the Two-Bedroom Villas feature a king, two queens, a pull-down queen, and a pull-down twin. The Grand Villas are absolutely decadent, featuring a king bed, four (!) queen beds, and two twin-sized pull-downs. Also, these Villas cover two floors and feature an exquisite outdoor balcony. You’re living large when you stay here.
Your needs and desires will determine which one is best for you. For comparison, here’s a video that shows what you’ll get with all the various room options at The Villas, including the suites.
Most importantly, every room here is just a short walk away from Downtown Disney, the Grand Californian, and the entrances to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
