No Beach Club Visit Is Complete Without…

When you visit a Disney Vacation Club resort, you want to experience the best amenities it has to offer. Part of the fun of the Disney Vacation Club program is that we all have decades to explore the various majestic Disney hotels. Whenever someone asks me about a specific resort, the first thing I tell them is what I consider the “must-dos.” So, today’s the start of a new series where I do the same for you, starting with Beach Club. No DVC visit here is complete without…
1. Swimming at Stormalong Bay
This series will be a bit different in that I’m going to rank based on my preferences, combined with what I think the consensus opinion would be. I don’t think I’m being controversial in saying that the best thing about Beach Club is Stormalong Bay. That’s why Disney has always made it so exclusive, and we all understand why.
Stormalong Bay provides the ultimate swimming pool experience of any DVC property. Disney is currently refurbishing the pool area from the ground up, so some of the things I love about it may not be there in May, but I’ve always adored the sand bottom floors, which accentuate the overriding beach theme. This place is an oasis.

2. Roam Around the World Showcase
If Stormalong Bay isn’t the best part of Beach Club, you’d probably say it’s the location instead. Some of the DVC hotel rooms sit legitimately less than five minutes from the World Showcase. I probably don’t have to tell you this, as we all know the glory of exiting our hotel room and being at the World Showcase almost immediately afterward. So, DVC members staying at Beach Club spend a disproportionate amount of time eating, drinking, and shopping at the various pavilions. It’s glorious.
3. Explore the Boardwalk

Another part of Beach Club’s excellent logistics is that it’s right across the water from the Boardwalk, an outstanding hangout area. This entertainment district features several noteworthy restaurants, such as The Cake Bake Shop. Personally, I prefer the live performances, though. You’ll find everything from dance troupes to acrobats to musicians. There’s never a charge for any of these performances, but tipping is encouraged in some instances. It’s free entertainment right across the bridge from Beach Club.
4. Order a Burger and Milkshake
Every DVC resort serves food that members consider home cooking after a time. At Beach Club, the best dining option isn’t necessarily Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, but it provides the most familiarity to longtime members. We love to step back in time here and order a burger and fries. Still, the real thrill of vacation occurs when we order ice cream, and Beaches and Cream is ideal for that. When you’re really feeling frisky, delight everyone else in the restaurant by splurging on the Kitchen Sink. You’ll never finish it, but every DVC member should try it at least once.
5. Ride the Skyliner

In 2019, Disney took to the air with its latest form of transportation. The Disney Skyliner provides gondola service to and from various theme parks and hotels. Guests can ride the Skyliner straight to Hollywood Studios, or one of several other hotels. Resort hoppers like me love the Skyliner because we can dine at several delightful locations, like the restaurants at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Just as importantly, the Skyliner provides a mesmerizing view of the Disney campus. You’ll admire the bird’s eye perspective of Disney’s incredible theme parks.
6. Visit Beach Club Marketplace
I consider this facility the oddest DVC store. Beach Club Marketplace is somehow a location where you can buy shirts and pizzas. Most of the store consists of typical Disney merchandise; however, you can also order a sandwich.
Yes, there’s a Quick Service dining location right by the shelf
where you can buy Disney board games. It’s strange, but I like it!
7. Hang Out at Hurricane Hanna’s
Not everyone wants to swim or ride the waterslide at Stormalong Bay. Many DVC owners would prefer to relax and enjoy some downtime between park visits, which is understandable. For them, Hurricane Hanna’s provides an oasis. Tourists can sunbathe in one of the many relaxing lounge chairs and either nurture a beverage or order something to eat. I very much like that you can also watch sporting events here, too. When I’m at Beach Club on the weekends, I don’t have to miss out on football games. Hurricane Hanna’s is a go-to spot for those who want to bask in the glory of Stormalong Bay but save all their energy for the parks.
