Reservations for DVC’s Next Resort Open Next Month
UPDATE: The Villas at the Disneyland Hotel – Opening September 28th!
The next Disney Vacation Club resort will open this year. Disney’s Parks Blog just announced the timeline for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel….and reservations begin in March! Here’s what we know.
The Villas at Disneyland Resort Will Open in September
On Monday, Disneyland officials revealed the opening window for San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure. Less than 48 hours later, Disney announced that The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will open in September. So, we’re only seven months away from the latest DVC offering!
I’d suggested on Monday that reservations would begin within a few months for a late fall opening. Now, I’m pleased to report that my estimate proved overly cautious.
DVC will open reservations for its new Disneyland Hotel expansion on March 15th! Here’s the official announcement:
“Reservations for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel can be made beginning on March 15 for Disney Vacation Club Members by contacting Member Services at (800) 800-9800 and on March 16 for Disneyland Resort Magic Key holders by contacting (714) 956-6425.”
Notably, everyone else may start booking on March 17th. So, you’ll want to take advantage of the priority two-day exclusive booking window. If you fall into this category, be sure to book with our friends at Be Our Guest Vacations.
Disney later sent out a DVC newsletter with this language: “IT’S ALMOST TIME! MEMBERS CAN BE THE FIRST TO BOOK THE VILLAS AT DISNEYLAND® HOTEL WITH CASH!”
Given the precise wording (and in all caps), I cannot offer any information about DVC Points-based bookings yet. I expect Disney to release the DVC Points Chart soon, though. After all, bookings start in three weeks!
As an FYI, Disney provided no details about sales. Presumably, that information will come with the DVC Points Chart. Check out the special edition of the DVC Show where our team Paul & Amy Krieger, Derek DeBoer and Jodi Gross discuss the news!
What We Just Learned about The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
Disney has provided numerous insights regarding the tower expansion over the past few years. It was even a highlight of a recent D23 Expo.
Disney had previously announced the fourth tower as a 280,000-square-foot standalone part of the Disneyland Hotel. It’s a 12-story facility that resides close to the legendary feature pool at the Disneyland Hotel, the one with the monorail slide.
The press release brags that this facility will be “just steps from the Downtown Disney District.” Beyond the remarkable logistics, this 350-room resort has so much going for it.
New images show a “duo studio” inspired by The Jungle Book. A giant mural above the in-wall bed shows Baloo and Mowgli relaxing in their element. These rooms represent the Disneyland equivalent of the Tower Studios at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Meanwhile, Imagineers have themed the deluxe studios to either The Princess and the Frog or Sleeping Beauty. They sleep four and look stunning. You can see the artwork and wallpaper on the Parks Blog. It’s genuinely breathtaking.
Disney also confirmed the sleeping arrangements on the one- and two-bedroom villas. A party of five can stay in the one-bedrooms, while up to nine guests can sleep in the two-bedrooms.
Disney has paid tribute to the color palettes from Fantasia and The Princess and the Frog with these suites. The open-space kitchens appear remarkably efficient and cleverly consolidated. I guess we should expect a fantastic kitchen in a room themed to Tiana!
Finally, Disney unveiled the 12-person Grand Villa. It’s a multi-floor, three-bedroom suite themed to Bambi, Moana, and Frozen. The first floor’s homey fireplace and kitchen will make you never want to go upstairs, though.
Final Thoughts about The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
If you haven’t guessed by now, Disney has taken some of the initial concepts from the undeveloped Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge and implemented them at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel instead. As such, the rooms are brimming with vibrant nature settings that will transport DVC guests to faraway lands.
You’ll somehow feel as if you’re at one with nature even though you’re right beside the kinetic entertainment district, Downtown Disney. This new DVC property looks like a grand slam, and you’ll want to be among the first to stay here. So, you should be ready to book on the morning of March 15th!
