Meet BB-8! BB-8’s meet and greet is officially open at Hollywood Studios’ Launch Bay! Word from guests who’ve “met” the little droid says fans won’t be disappointed. Be sure to check your Times Guides or ask a Launch Bay Cast Member for exact meet and greet times!
Disney Does Uber Want to skip the buses? Walt Disney World is putting an Uber-type service in place on property that will allow guests to hail a car from location to location. Not a lot of details yet, but spaces at the front gates of the Magic Kingdom have been reserved for guest drop-off with this service, suggesting that it will be a first-class ride.
Gondolas?? Gondolas. More transportation news and this is pretty amazing. If you’ve been missing the Fantasyland Skyway at Walt Disney World, a new option may be coming. Plans were filed by Disney Imagineers for construction of Gondola stations last month to connect Epcot at the International Gateway, Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Pop Century Resort. The cars will be enclosed and probably hold around 20 people each. There are tons of questions to still be answered, but this could be a really cool addition to World’s transportation offerings.
Security Checkpoints Have Changed at Magic Kingdom! Shorter bag check lines, happier guests! Bag check and security checkpoints have moved for the Magic Kingdom to make getting into the park faster and easier. For guests entering from the Magic Kingdom parking lots, and Epcot on the monorail, the checkpoints are now at the Ticket and Transportation Center. For guests at the resorts, the checkpoints are at the resorts themselves. If you’re at Bay Lake Tower and walking over, there’s a handy checkpoint for you on the walkway! Guest response so far has been great and the park is much easier to access!
Club 33 Goes Bicoastal If you’ve always wanted to be a member of Disneyland’s Club 33, the experience is about to expand to possibly give you the option. Walt Disney World will get its own Club 33 experience, possibly coming to each of the four parks. Membership details are coming, so stay tuned!
The Music of Pixar – LIVE! A new show is coming to Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios that will feature the music of Pixar played by a live orchestra. Beginning May 26, Guests at Hollywood Studios will be able to see nightly performances of the new performance that features a live symphony orchestra. Dining packages are being offered, so be sure to call 407-WDW-DINE and ask for details!
