What to Know about DVC Vacations in March 2026

March is one of the busiest months for Disney Vacation Club travel. Between spring break crowds, EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival, and Disney California Adventure’s Food & Wine Festival, it’s important to plan ahead. The difference between this month versus January and February is that availability can be an issue. Here’s what you need to know about DVC vacations in March.

Food & Wine Begins

I know what you’re thinking, but I’m not referencing the EPCOT festival. As a reminder, Disney California Adventure (DCA) hosts its own annual event.

The 2027 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival should start around the same time as the 2026 version of the event. The most recent edition began on the first Friday of March. Presuming that behavior holds, Food & Wine 2027 should begin on or around March 5th

Since many celebrity chefs make Southern California their home, this is always a huge local event. Disney hosts culinary demonstrations with Cast Members and some Michelin-starred chefs. You can learn a few cooking tricks while watching the masters do their thing.

DCA also hosts Beverage Education Seminars. You can drink some potent potables made by master sommeliers. Both sets of seminars are always quite popular, but let’s be honest. They’re not the main event.

Guests attend for those glorious food booths, just like at EPCOT. The Festival Marketplaces are small plates heaven, which is ideal for a hangout park like DCA. Disney also brags about the “California craft beer, creative cocktails, and specialty wines.” And let me be clear that craft beer qualifies as an art form in California. So, the flavors dazzle during every Food & Wine Festival.

In fact, this event mirrors EPCOT’s in another way. Many of the ingredients used are local to the area, just like how Disney cultivates The Land pavilion for its festivals. Speaking of which…

It’s Flower & Garden Season

When people think of EPCOT festivals, two typically spring to mind. This park’s version of Food & Wine is probably the most famous of all theme park festivals. However, another one is actually the oldest.

The 2027 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival dates back to 1995 and has been delighting guests for more than 30 years now. Generally speaking, Flower & Garden begins in early March and ends in late May/early June. If Disney follows a similar schedule to 2026, next year’s event will begin on March 3rd and end on May 31st

As for what you can expect, well, I suspect that this festival is one we all know by heart. Since Flower & Garden has operated symmetrically with DVC vacations since the 1990s, many of us have spent some time here.

The festival celebrates the changing of the seasons by hosting charming spring topiaries. I have no idea how Cast Members do what they do, but they can shape bushes into shockingly realistic versions of Disney characters and scenes. The Fantasia topiaries are my favorite, but Lightning McQueen and Groot are amazing, too.

To a larger point, the Flower & Garden Festival offers many of the same options as DCA’s Food & Wine, just in more of a Florida way. The Outdoor Kitchens serve impeccable cuisine, and the World Showcase offers the equivalent of bar-hopping during the event.

Flower & Garden does offer a few unique twists, though. Most famously, the Garden Rocks concert series brings music fans to America Gardens Theatre to watch their favorite bands. If that’s your thing, the dining packages here guarantee you a seat. DCA doesn’t really have an equivalent of this, although the Sip and Savor Pass may surpass it. One’s for concert goers, while the other will absolutely delight foodies.

Welcome to Spring Break Season

You will face more crowds when vacationing in March. While parts of January and February can be busy at DVC resorts, the reality is that March is a whole different ballgame. And the reason why is Spring Break.

While the date varies by school system, March is usually the month of choice. That should prove especially true in 2027 due to the calendar configuration. Some school districts align their vacation schedule with Easter, which can fall in April. In 2027, we’ll be celebrating Easter on March 28th. So, the fourth week of the month should be particularly crowded.

Just to be clear, this statement doesn’t apply exclusively to theme park-based DVC resorts, either. Many of us love to head to Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort or Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, is another excellent option, too.

For this reason, you should expect a battle at the seven-month booking window. I’d encourage you to book a room at your Home Resort during your early window if it’s not already too late. Also, remember that you’ll pay more for your room during the high season.
