Best DVC Quick Service Restaurants

Part of the fun of being a Disney Vacation Club member is getting to sample all the delicious fun. Disney has prioritized dining as an integral part of the vacation experience. So, the various DVC resorts host any number of high-quality restaurants, one of which has even won a Michelin star.

Since you have so many different dining choices, you’re probably wondering which ones are worth your time. Today, I’ll answer half that question by focusing on grab-and-go dining, the kind you’re likely to find on Mobile Ordering. Here are the best DVC Quick Service restaurants.

Capt. Cook’s

You’ll find the iconic Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It’s the hotel lobby, and it’s where Cast Members have handed out leis for more than 50 years now.

Part of the joy of the Great Ceremonial House is that you know you can take care of all your vacation needs in this one happy building. You’ll find exquisite shopping, drinking, and dining options here, including a go-to restaurant for efficient meals.

At Capt. Cook’s, DVC members relish Polynesian cuisine listed on the menu as Island Favorites. A couple of dishes are staples of this restaurant. So, you should try Thai Coconut Meatballs and Pan-Asian Noodles and Vegetables at some point.

Personally, I just go for the Aloha Pork Sandwich, which is one of the sweetest BBQ sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. Oh, and in the mornings, you can order Tonga Toast! How great is that?

Contempo Café

Not every restaurant belongs on this list simply for its menu. You may have arched an eyebrow at the inclusion of Contempo Café at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Then, you remembered all the delicious cupcakes you’ve eaten here over the years.

Many of Contempo Café’s desserts have gone viral over the years due to their decadent designs. My favorite of them was a monorail-inspired cupcake, which is fitting. The restaurant resides right under the hotel’s monorail tracks. When you grab a refill here, you may notice a monorail five feet above you. It happens, and it’s pure Disney magic.

As for the food, this is the purest grab-and-go restaurant on this list. You’ll find several dishes in the refrigerated section that you can take back to your hotel room and stick in your mini-fridge.

Contempo Café is also an exceptional breakfast dining option for everyone, even when you’re not staying at Bay Lake Tower. You can eat a meal here. Then, you can immediately hop on the monorail and be at Magic Kingdom in ten minutes or EPCOT in 20. That sort of convenience is hard to top.

Gasparilla Island Grill

Speaking of over-the-top desserts, Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is ideal for anyone with a sweet tooth. You’ll find a dizzying mix of brownies, cookies, cakes, and cupcakes here, all of which will perfect your dining experience.

The list of entrees is remarkably deep as well. The Chicken Korean BBQ Bowl, House-Made Macaroni & Cheese, and Tofu Korean BBQ Bowl will satisfy any foodie. As for the rest of us, the menu includes flatbreads, burgers, and sandwiches, making it an excellent compromise choice for large groups.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Gasparilla Island Grill is located by the marina at the Grand Floridian, which gives it a gorgeous backdrop. Still, that restaurant cannot compete with the idyllic setting at Geyser Point Bar & Grill.

You’ll discover this restaurant at the back of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and that’s its strength. You’re dining at an outdoor covered restaurant right by the water. So, you’re eating in a forest by a river, a magical setting that feels very Disney.

As for the menu, Geyser Point has wowed DVC members since its opening date. The Bison Cheeseburger here has attained legendary status, and the Charcuterie Flatbread is mythic. If you don’t want the pizza part, you can order Handcrafted Cheese and Charcuterie as a standalone quick bite shareable for two.

Here are our friends at DVC Fan raving about their Geyser Point meal. Please pay attention to the beauty of this place as the evening progresses.

The Mara

Everyone loves breakfast at The Mara. In fact, people love it so much that I knew some of you would call for my head if I left this restaurant off the list.

Nestled by a babbling brook, The Mara will establish a serene mood as you sit down for your meal. At breakfast, you’ll want the Savannah Platter, a veritable smorgasbord of morning entrees, or an Ancient Grain Power Bowl.

As for the other meals, you’ll find all the protein bowls you could ever need. More importantly, The Mara sells Zebra Domes. Repeat: The Mara sells Zebra Domes!!! You know what to do.

Primo Piatto

Finally, we have one of my newer favorites, Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort. When you enter the hotel from the Disney Skyliner, you can walk up the stairs to the main lobby. Alternately, you can keep going straight (ish) through the bottom floor.

When you choose the latter path, you’ll quickly wind up at Primo Piatto, which serves all the French and Italian flavors you’d expect while visiting the Riviera. We’re talking Ham and Brie Baguettes, Meatballs, flatbreads, and even a Turkey Panini.

This place has quickly become our go-to spot for lunch on Disney’s Hollywood Studios days. It’s relaxing, scenic, and easily accessible.
