What to Expect at DVC in 2025

The Walt Disney Company enters a transitional phase in 2025. Disney theme parks will close some classic attractions and replace them with updated experiences. These changes are essential to the upcoming $60 billion theme park expansion happening over the next decade.

For this reason, the Disney Vacation Club’s 2025 plans seem a bit less ambitious in recent years. To Disney’s credit, it didn’t delay the opening of the Island Tower into 2025 to have something marketable then. Instead, Disney and DVC have shown confidence that what they have is good enough for now. Since DVC has opened three new properties in 14 months, it’s the correct philosophy.

Still, we as DVC members have plenty of reasons to feel excited about 2025…and one reason to feel some trepidation. Here’s what you should expect at DVC in 2025.

The DVC Lounge at Frontierland Will Open

I mentioned that Disney has closed some classic attractions. One of the first in 2024 was the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, which had entertained guests since Magic Kingdom opened in 1971.

For several years, fans eyed this location as a place where Disney might upgrade, partially because the expectation was that Frontierland would close. Instead, Disney has doubled down on the concept by promising a Cars themed area at Frontierland in a few years.

As part of those changes, Disney wants to update the Frontierland skyline to modernize it a bit. Foremost among those plans is the introduction of the DVC lounge at Frontierland.

You can already find information about the Magic Kingdom Frontier Lounge on the DVC website. Disney has named it McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge. This space will open in the summer of 2025. Disney promises you can “experience the rustic charm of a space inspired by the adventurous spirit of exploration from a bygone era.”

The First Year of Membership Magic Beyond Begins

I previously detailed why I’m signing up for Membership Magic Beyond. Based on what I’m reading and hearing, I’m in the minority on this one, although we’ll never know for sure unless Disney reveals numbers.

Membership Magic Beyond is a new paid service that costs $99 annually. Starting on January 12th, participating members will unlock these extra benefits beyond the basic ones with Membership Magic. DVC promises specific admission ticket discounts, 30 days of Memory Maker access, half-price discounts on One-Time-Use Points, and much more.

Right now, we really don’t know what to think of Membership Magic Beyond because it’s all theoretical. So, we’ll find out plenty more about the value of this service in two weeks. Given the gripes of countless DVC members, Disney needs to prove that it’s worth the $99 a year.

DVC Will Provide Lakeshore Lodge Details

Okay, I should say that DVC will hopefully provide details about its next property, Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Formerly known as Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, this property is already old.

Concept art entry for Lakeshore Lodge

Disney announced the hotel in 2018, and construction started in 2019. Then, the pandemic struck, forcing the project to go into hiatus. Honestly, most people thought it was dead. Then, Disney miraculously brought Lakeshore Lodge back to life in late 2024.

So, we’ll spend 2025 awaiting details and watching construction take shape. Since Disney already laid the groundwork for this resort, it has a head start on most new DVC hotels. Lakeshore Lodge legitimately could come together relatively quickly.

Moonlight Magic

DVC has already published the full schedule of 2025 Moonlight Magic events. Presuming you qualify for Membership Extras, you should attend one of these events.

Disney provides DVC members with three hours of theme park access at a time when the parks have closed for guests with regular admission tickets. It’s a terrific amenity. Here is the current schedule for 2025.

  • January 26: Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • February 3: Disney California Adventure
  • February 12: Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • April 30: EPCOT
  • May 20: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park
  • June 9: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park
  • July 17: EPCOT
  • August 11: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park
  • September 1: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Please remember that dates are subject to change and that DVC sometimes adds an extra Moonlight Magic event. So, if these events sell out, you may get another chance at a later date.

Price Increase on Direct Sales

Heads up, DVC members and prospective buyers! Paul over at DVC Fan has reported that Disney Vacation Club is preparing to raise direct sale prices for multiple resorts by $6–$10 per point. This price increase is expected to take effect on Tuesday February 11, 2025.

Historically, every time Disney raises its DVC prices, the resale market becomes an even better value for buyers looking to save. So, if you’ve been considering a DVC purchase, now is the time to weigh your options. Direct pricing will soon be higher, making resale contracts an even smarter way to maximize value. Keep a close eye on this one!
