Let’s Discuss the Most Unique Rooms at DVC

One of the best parts of the Disney Vacation Club program is its diversity. You can stay in rooms as small as 255 square feet or as large as 2,800 square feet. The program contracts and expands based entirely on your needs at the time, and some of the offerings are solely available at DVC. Let’s discuss the most unique rooms at DVC.
Bungalows at the Polynesian
Everyone at DVC knows about the Bungalows. For many of us, this particular Room Type is on our bucket list as a dream hotel stay.
Disney added hotel suites right in the water at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Now, these two-bedroom suites overlook Magic Kingdom. You can take a dip in your private pool (!) while you watch the fireworks at night. In fact, the only “concern” you’ll have about spending the night in a Bungalow is the noise from the Disney boats sailing past your suite. Thankfully, Disney has thought of everything, as these rooms feature noise-canceling walls.
Thematically, the Bungalows mirror actual vacations options you’ll find in the South Seas. Realistically, there is no other vacation option like this at any Disney theme park. You’ll sleep in the waters of Seven Seas Lagoon, only minutes away from Magic Kingdom. It’s almost dizzying how rare and profound this opportunity is. The Bungalows at the Polynesian singlehandedly justify DVC membership.
Cabins at Fort Wilderness
In 2024, Disney unveiled its first reboot at The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. This property has proven popular for more than 50 years now, which created a weird problem for management. They couldn’t exactly shut down the hotel long enough to fix the aging Cabins.
Once DVC committed to this hotel, park officials decided to do just that, phasing out the aging Cabins from the 1970s with new, efficient structures. These new Cabins are night and day better, and they feature much more modern amenities to boot. Here’s what they look like inside:
You enjoy the seclusion of Disney’s Fort Wilderness AND the Cabin itself. Even though you’re staying with hundreds of other guests, you won’t see them. The instant you enter your Cabin, the outside world fades away, making it an ideal vacation option.Even better, when you exit your Cabin, you’re still at Fort Wilderness, which is home to countless impressive amenities. My favorite of them is the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, a dude ranch mere minutes from Magic Kingdom. So, the location and surroundings at these Cabins are ideal.
More importantly, the Cabin itself comfortably sleeps up to six guests. This is partially due to the clever bunk beds on one side of the room, and you’ll find a pull-down as well, as is the DVC trend lately.
To a larger point, you’re staying in a Cabin that features everything you’ll need. There’s a full-sized kitchen, stainless steel appliances, and a dining room table. Outside, you’ll find a barbecue grill. So, you can cook as much as you want during your vacation. It’s like owning a Cabin ten minutes from Magic Kingdom, which you basically do as a DVC member at Fort Wilderness.
Cascade Cabins at Copper Creek
Then, we have the upscale version of The Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Take a boat ride from here, and you’ll arrive at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, a hotel with two DVC ownership interests. One of them, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, offers a unique Room Type.
The Cascade Cabin/Cabin/Bank at Copper Creek is like staying at a cabin in the woods. These Cabins cover 1,700 square feet of space and even come with a hot tub and fireplace! You’re choosing luxury bordering on opulence when you stay at one. Here’s proof:
You’ll instantly notice the similarities with the Bungalows. These are isolated hotel suites where you feel like Disney royalty. The rooms offer everything you could ever possibly need, straight down to those private swimming areas.
At the Cascade Cabin, you’ll sit in a rustic suite by the water, being at one with nature. It’s bliss. And that’s an important factor with most of these rooms. You’re not just booking the Cascade Cabin but also the vibe that comes along with the package.
Tower Studio at the Riviera
DVC officials loved this Room Type so much that they’ve since added other variants at places like The Villas at Disneyland Hotel and the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. And it’s easy to understand why.
DVC members can maximize their precious DVC Points by staying in these intimate hotel rooms. A Tower Studio at the Riviera covers 255 square feet of space, making it the smallest current room in the DVC inventory.
What’s the appeal? Imagineers have cleverly designed the 255 square feet of space, maximizing efficiency. You don’t need to worry about a hotel bed getting in your way throughout the day. It goes into the wall, revealing a sofa where you can sit.
This sort of considerate design has revolutionized the thinking of various DVC members. Now, we know that we can stretch our points by staying in an inexpensive room occasionally.
Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs
Before we had The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, the deluxe version of the concept existed at Saratoga Springs. It’s the same idea of spending a few days in isolation alone in the woods. The primary difference is scale.
The octagonal Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs are larger three-bedroom suites capable of sleeping up to nine guests. They’re 1,074 square feet each, making them ideal for any sort of traveling party. A couple will be secluded in the woods, while a large family or group of friends can all sleep comfortably here.
As the above video demonstrates, you’re entirely isolated, but it’s a shockingly spacious suite. Despite the outside appearance, it’s also remarkably modern, hosting several USB chargers throughout the rooms. Disney even cleverly built an HDTV into the wall beside the barstools.
When you stay at the Treehouse Villas, you’re at one with nature, but you don’t need to leave modern living behind. Meanwhile, you’ll be comfortable in every room, as the combination of sofas, bunk beds, and desks allows you to do anything you want during your vacation getaway. While some of the newer DVC Room Types receive more hype, the Treehouse Villas remain a tried and true DVC option.
